The Bears' offense gave the rest of the world a look at its potential when it rolled up 41 points on the poor Colts in Week 1. A huge key to the Bears' statistical rise is receiver Brandon Marshall, who has reunited with quarterback Jay Cutler in the Windy City. Already it appears that Marshall is being regarded as a quality receiver judging by these trades that were made in CBSSports.com leagues.
Brandon Marshall for Shonn Greene and Brandon Lloyd: According to our trade chart, this is a fair-and-square deal. Marshall, with a value of 17, is equal to the combined numbers of Greene (8) and Lloyd (9). The deal also works in that the owner giving up Marshall is getting a quality replacement in Lloyd along with a running back. I could see this trade working for an owner who has Marshall and Fred Jackson.
Brandon Marshall for Michael Vick and Chris Johnson: This trade is nonsense. Vick and Johnson might be off to ugly starts but combined they're still better for Fantasy owners than just Marshall. The combined value of Vick and Johnson is a rich 40 points -- Marshall would need to be joined by the likes of Matt Ryan or DeMarco Murray to even be in the ballpark of a fair deal.
Brandon Marshall for Trent Richardson and Eric Decker: Still too much for Marshall according to the chart. Again, this could be an example of an owner giving up early on Richardson and dangling him with Decker for an upgrade at receiver. Or maybe the Richardson/Decker owner is loaded at running back and can afford to move him. What he or she doesn't know is an offer of Richardson straight up for Marshall should get some serious consideration.
Brandon Marshall for Matt Forte: A little Bear-on-Bear bartering here, but it can work. Forte has a slight edge on Marshall if only because he'll total more yards and plays at the valuable running back position. But if an owner was stuck at receiver and loaded at running back, then the deal is close enough to work.
