Dave Richard wants three things out of life: To eat well, be happy and evaluate football talent. Luckily, he's living his dream.
Born in Chicago and now living in Fort Lauderdale, Dave's journey started when he was hired to be the content producer for WrestleLine.com, a site dedicated to pro wrestling. We're not kidding.
In 2001, Dave traded turnbuckles for pylons and produced content and wrote for NFL.com. Along the way, he did hundreds of Q&As, attended several NFL drafts as well as a couple of games and learned the game inside-out from football intellectuals like Gil Brandt, Pat Kirwan and Ellen Levy. Dave went on to become one of the first weekly Fantasy Football writers on the league's official web site.
In 2005, CBSSports.com came calling, and Dave didn't hesitate to run to the online leader in Fantasy Sports. Since then, he has not only written daily on all things Fantasy Football, but has also worked on enhancements and new features so that die-hard Fantasy Football owners can get the most they possibly can out of this site.
An alum of the University of Miami and a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, Dave has been seen on The CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Preview Show, Comcast Sports Southeast's Fantasy Sports Week and on video here at CBSSports.com. He's been heard on both national radio (The NFL Today and The Fantasy Football Show, both on Westwood One) as well as SIRIUS Satellite Radio (The Scott Ferrall Show and SIRIUS Fantasy Football), and on sports-talk stations nationwide including WSCR-AM in Chicago. And yes, Dave was on Wheel of Fortune in February, 2006 (he made it to the bonus round, but don't bring up "Flamingo").
Besides football, Dave's other passion is family. He's married to Karen, whose idea of a perfect date is any place with the NFL dish package and prime rib. He also has a sports-loving son named Ryan and a beautiful daughter named Hillary. |
