Astros P Scott Feldman (knee) could get rehab start Saturday
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5:42 pm ET) Astros pitcher Scott Feldman's rehab assignment is likely to begin this Saturday, according to the Houston Chronicle

Before Feldman gets the go-ahead for his rehab assignment he will throw a bullpen. Once he's on assignment, it will be a matter of building up his innings pitched. Feldman has been on the disabled list with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

This season, Feldman has a 4.80 ERA.

Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman goes through full workout Tuesday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5:42 pm ET) Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman (foot) went through a full workout Tuesday, which included fielding grounds, hitting and light running.

He will do the same thing Wednesday. If all goes well, then the next step will be a rehab assignment.

Nationals' Anthony Rendon (quad) takes batting practice Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(5:41 pm ET) Nationals infielder Anthony Rendon took batting practice on Tuesday, the first time he has done such since landing on the disabled list with quad injury on Friday. Rendon already missed the first two months of the season with knee and oblique injuries.

He has not started running yet, but he can participate in baseball activities, according to MASNSports.com.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5:38 pm ET) Nationals reliever Aaron Barrett (biceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Class A Potomac on Wednesday. He will pitch one inning.

Royals' Jarrod Dyson dealing with groin issue
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(5:37 pm ET) Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson has been dealing with a groin injury after he tweaked it during the series at Seattle, report The Kansas City Star.

"If I can go, I'm getting down the line," he said. "But right there, you've got to be smart."

Dyson is hitting .417 with one triple and two RBI in his last 11 games.

Astros P Brad Peacock progressing after recent setback
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(5:33 pm ET) Astros right-hander Brad Peacock is throwing off flat ground, as he recovers from an intercoastal muscle strain that has had him on the disabled list since April 17. Peacock began a minor-league rehab assignment in the middle of June, but suffered a set back after making his first start.

Peacock is hoping to progress to throwing off of a mound at some point next week.

Astros OF Colby Rasmus (skin infection) hospitalized Monday
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5:30 pm ET) Astros manager A.J. Hinch said outfielder Colby Rasmus was hospitalized Monday night due to a skin infection on his wrist, according to the Houston Chronicle

The condition didn't worsen and it doesn't appear Rasmus is headed to the disabled list at this time. However, this weekend's road trip against the Red Sox is now in doubt for Rasmus.

This season, Rasmus is hitting .247/.321/.485.

Astros OF Jake Marisnick expected to begin rehab on Wednesday

Diamondbacks recall Matt Stites; option Allen Webster to Triple-A
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(5:26 pm ET) The Diamondbacks promoted pitcher Matt Stites from Triple-A on Tuesday, the team announced.

Stites last pitched in the majors in 2014 and went 0-0 with a 5.73 ERA in 33 innings.

To make room for Stites, the team optioned pitcher Allen Webster to Triple-A. Webster went 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA in four starts for the Diamondbacks this season.

Defensive ability keeping Leonys Martin in Rangers lineup
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5:26 pm ET) Although Rangers center fielder Leonys Martin continues to struggle offensively, manager Jeff Banister likes what he brings to the table defensively, which is why he remains in the starting lineup.

“Leonys takes runs off the board,” Banister said, per The Dallas Morning News. “I like premium defenders. They can impact the game with any ball hit to them. Where it becomes a challenge is when you don’t score runs. If you aren’t [scoring], I could see a lineup where you put all the bats possible in the lineup. If that puts a premium defender on the bench with the possibility of entering the game later to protect a lead, I could see that.”
