by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10:10 pm ET) The Astros will recall infielder Jonathan Villar, catcher Max Stassi and pitcher Nick Tropeano and Jorge De Leon Tuesday when rosters expand, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The team will need to clear two 40-man roster spots for the pitchers. Villar hit .200/.255/.342 with six home runs, 22 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 225 at-bats with Houston before being sent to the minors.

Paulsen was called upon to hit for the pitcher in the seventh inning and broke a 7-7 tie with his two-run blast. He's been fantastic in limited action with the Rockies, hitting .417/.447/.694 with two home runs and six RBI in 36 at-bats.

Hunter Pence slugs 19th home run Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:58 pm ET) Giants outfielder Hunter Pence went 1 for 4 with a walk and a three-run home run in his team's 10-9 loss to the Rockies Monday.

Pence put his team up three runs early with his first-inning shot, but the Giants were outscored 10-5 from the second inning on. The homer extended his hitting streak to 14 games.

Buck Farmer to rejoin Tigers Tuesday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:54 pm ET) The Tigers will recall pitcher Buck Farmer from Triple-A Toledo Tuesday, MLive.com reports.

Farmer was hammered in his last outing with the team, giving up seven earned runs while recording only four outs on Aug. 23. He spent most of his time this season with Class A West Michigan, posting a 2.60 ERA and 116:24 K:BB ratio in 103 2/3 innings. Farmer also did a solid job with Double-A Erie but struggled in two starts with Toledo.

Michael Morse scheduled for MRI Tuesday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:50 pm ET) Giants outfielder Michael Morse is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured hip Tuesday, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reports.

Morse was a late scratch Monday after suffering the injury during batting practice. He has hit .280/.338/.477 with 16 home runs and 61 RBI in 436 at-bats.

Sergio Romo stuck with walkoff loss Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:47 pm ET) Giants pitcher Sergio Romo was victimized by three singles in two-thirds of an inning to take a walkoff 10-9 loss against the Rockies Monday.

Romo (5-4) surrendered a single to the leadoff batter in the bottom of the ninth, and after a sacrifice sent the runner to second base, a popout to the catcher put Romo one out away from sending the game into extra innings. He couldn't come through, allowing back-to-back singles to end the game. Romo owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 52:12 K:BB ratio in 50 2/3 innings.

LaTroy Hawkins blows save, picks up win Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:44 pm ET) Rockies closer LaTroy Hawkins blew a save opportunity Monday, allowing two earned runs on three hits in one inning while striking out one, but his offense picked him up and handed him the win in the team's 10-9 victory over the Giants.

Hawkins (3-2) surrendered a double and a single to bring a run home, and after the potential tying run advanced to second on a wild pitch, the runner came home on a single with still no outs in the inning. The closer buckled down to pick up outs against the next three batters. Hawkins owns a 3.00 ERA and 31:12 K:BB ratio in 48 innings.

Franklin Morales blasted for seven runs vs. Giants Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:36 pm ET) Rockies pitcher Franklin Morales escaped with a no-decision Monday, surrendering seven earned runs on nine hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings while striking out three in his team's  10-9 win over the Giants.

Morales surrendered a three-run home run to the fifth batter of the game and gave up an RBI single before finally getting out of the first inning. It's his second poor performance in his lat three starts. Morales owns a 5.46 ERA and 89:59 K:BB ratio in 128 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Padres Sunday.

Tim Hudson struggles in no-decision vs. Rockies
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9:36 pm ET) Giants pitcher Tim Hudson didn't factor into Monday's decision after allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and one walk in five-plus innings and striking out five in his team's 10-9 loss to the Rockies.

Hudson gave up two runs on a second-inning triple but otherwise kept the Rockies offense at bay in his first five frames. He ran into big trouble in the sixth, issuing a walk and surrendering two singles before a fielder's choice-turned-error brought home the second run of a four-run sixth and ended the starter's game. Hudson owns a 3.08 ERA and 111:30 K:BB ratio in 172 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Tigers Sunday.
