Phil Gosselin promoted from Triple-A

(10:38 am ET) The Braves announced late Saturday night they recalled infielder Phil Gosselin from Triple-A Gwinnett. The team will announce a corresponding move Sunday.

Gosselin, who earned All-Star honors at Triple-A, hit .345 with five homers, 27 doubles, 30 RBI and 56 runs for Gwinnett.


Post-break rotation plans starting to take shape for Mets

(10:34 am ET) After announcing Bartolo Colon the starter for the first game after the All-Star break, Mets manager Terry Collins said Dillon Gee will pitch the second game at San Diego and Zack Wheeler will close out the three-game series. Collins added Sunday the last two spots in the rotation will be determined by health considerations, according to The Star-Ledger.

White Sox promote Carlos Sanchez

(10:32 am ET) The White Sox called up infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte. He hit .291 with five homers, 42 RBI and 12 steals in 89 games with Charlotte.

Brandon Moss has 20 HRs before All-Star break

(10:28 am ET) Athletics first baseman/outfielder Brandon Moss made it to 20 home runs before the All-Star break after clubbing his 20th home run Saturday at Seattle. Moss spoiled Hisashi Iwakuma's bid for a complete-game shutout when he hit a two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning.

The All-Star slugger is batting .273 (9 for 33) with two home runs, three doubles, five RBI, five runs and two walks in nine July games.


Jason Castro shows some pop

(10:21 am ET) Astros catcher Jason Castro hit a two-run homer and tripled in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox. Castro has eight homers and 36 RBI in 277 at-bats. The homer was his first since June 27, and the triple was his second this year.

Kyle Seager clubs 15th home run in win vs. Oakland

(10:17 am ET) Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager homered and doubled during a 6-2 win Saturday vs. Oakland. It was his second home run in three games.

Seager gave Seattle a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning with his 15th home run. His career high is 22, which he set last season. The All-Star third baseman is batting .293 (12 for 41) with two doubles, three home runs, five runs, eight RBI and six walks in 11 July games.


Robinson Cano stays red hot

(10:16 am ET) Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano went 3 for 5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored Saturday, making him 11 for 18 over his last four games.

Cano's ninth-inning blast was his seventh of the season. He's batting .334 with 56 RBI and riding a six-game hitting streak.


Todd Frazier one HR shy of tying career high

(10:11 am ET) Reds third baseman Todd Frazier clubbed his 18th home run Saturday vs. Pittsburgh, which puts him one shy of tying his career high. He produced 19 home runs in 2012 and 2013.

Saturday's home run was a three-run shot off of Charlie Morton during a five-run sixth inning for Cincinnati. The All-Star third baseman is batting .319 (15 for 47) with one home run, two doubles, four runs, five RBI and two stolen bases in 12 July games.


Kevin Siegrist getting closer to returning from injury

(10:07 am ET) Cardinals reliever Kevin Siegrist (forearm, shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis Saturday. He didn't allow a run in two-thirds of an inning, while allowing two walks and striking out one.

Scott Carroll says he won't miss a start

(10:07 am ET) White Sox pitcher Scott Carroll, who left Saturday's start after five innings, said he'll ready to pitch after the All-Star break, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. Carroll threw five scoreless innings before deyhdration caused his hamstrings and lower back to stiffen up.

He has a scoreless streak of 11 2/3 innings.
