    Indians unlikely to bring back Jason Giambi next year

    (12:57 am ET) The Indians are unlikely to bring back veteran Jason Giambi next year, according to the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

    The 43-year-old hit just .133 over 60 at-bats last season. While general manager Chris Antonetti said he wouldn't completely rule out a reunion, he added that Giambi is a tough fit on the roster at this point. Giambi had been a coaching candidate a few offseasons ago, and could look to go that route if this is the end of his playing career. 


    Cardinals remove Shane Robinson, Jaime Garcia from DL

    (12:54 am ET) The Cardinals have removed outfielder Shane Robinson and pitcher Jaime Garcia from the 60-day disabled list. 

    Robinson underwent shoulder surgery in August. He's expected to be ready for spring training. Garcia had surgery to correct thoracic outlet syndrome in July. 


    Braves activate four from disabled list

    (12:51 am ET) The Braves have activated four players from the 60-day disabled list Friday.

    Jonny Venters, Kris Medlen, Brandon Beachy and Cory Gearrin were all taken off the disabled list. All four players had Tommy John surgery during the year. Medlen, Beachy and Gearrin underwent the surgery in March or April. Venters had his third Tommy John in August. 


    Yankees clear four from 60-day disabled list

    (12:49 am ET) The Yankees have cleared CC Sabathia, Slade Heathcott, Ivan Nova and Martin Prado from the 60-day disabled list Friday.

    Sabathia had knee surgery in July, but has been throwing since September. Nova had Tommy John surgery in April, and is in the process of recovery. Prado had an appendectomy in September. 


    Blue Jays to pick up J.A. Happ's option

    (10/31/2014) The Blue Jays will pick up an option on pitcher J.A. Happ, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.

    Happ posted a 4.22 ERA over 156 innings with the club last season. Happ will return to the club for $6.7 million next year. 


    Mariners activate Willie Bloomquist from 60-day DL

    (10/31/2014) The Mariners have activated infielder Willie Bloomquist from the 60-day disabled list Friday.

    Bloomquist had microfracture surgery in August. He's not eligible to be on the 60-day DL in the offseason, but could be placed back on it next season if he still needs time to rehab. 


    Dodgers decline option on Chad Billingsley

    (10/31/2014) The Dodgers have declined an option on pitcher Chad Billingsley, according to the LA Times

    Billingsley could have been retained for $14 million, but the club opted to buy him out for $3 million. Billingsley missed all of last season while recovering from his second Tommy John surgery. He made just two starts in 2013. 


    Rockies outright Matt McBride to Triple-A

    (10/31/2014) The Rockies have outrighted infielder Matt McBride to Triple-A.

    McBride hit .226 over 31 at-bats with the club last season. He could have declined the assignment and become a free-agent, but opted to remain with the club. 


    Mets activate Matt Harvey, Bobby Parnell from 60-day DL

    (10/31/2014) The Mets have activated Matt Harvey and Bobby Parnell from the 60-day disabled list Friday.

    Harvey spent all of 2014 recovering after Tommy John surgery. He's expected to be 100 percent by spring training. Parnell underwent Tommy John surgery in April. 


    Mets outright four to Triple-A Friday

    (10/31/2014) The Mets have outrighted four players to Triple-A Friday.

    Scott Rice , Josh Satin, Buddy Carlyle and Dana Eveland all accepted their assignments and will report to Triple-A. All four players could have declined the offer and become free agents, but opted to remain with the club.
