    Yankees announce first three starters after ASG

    (1:40 am ET) Yankees manager announced part of his post-break pitching plans on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

    The team will roll with David Phelps Friday night against the Reds, followed by Brandon McCarthy and Hiroki Kuroda. The team has not named a fourth and fifth starter, though Chase Whitley and Shane Greene both appear to candidates for the vacant spots.


    Giants reveal post-break rotation

    (1:29 am ET) Giants manager Bruce Bochy revealed his post-break pitching plans, MLB.com reports.

    The Giants will roll with Madison Bumgarner, Tim Hudson and Tim Lincecum to open a three-game set in Miami. Ryan Vogelsong will take the mound Monday and Matt Cain on Tuesday against the Phillies in Philadelphia.


    O's announce post-break rotation plans

    (1:21 am ET) Orioles manager Buck Showalter announced his post-break rotation on Sunday, MASN Sports reports.

    The team will go with Chris Tillman, Wei-Yin Chen and Kevin Gausman to open a three-game series in Oakland. Bud Norris and Miguel Gonzalez will pitch Monday and Tuesday against the Angels, respectively.


    Kevin Gausman picks up complete game win in rain-shortened game

    (1:17 am ET) Orioles starting pitcher Kevin Gausman was awarded the win in a rain-shortened outing Sunday night at home against the Yankees, improving to 4-2 on the season.

    The right-hander allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out two over five innings of work. The game was called after five innings due to inclement weather, giving him a complete game victory.

    Gausman enters the break with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP over seven starts (38 1/3 innings). Over his last two starts covering 10 1/3 innings, Gausman has allowed only two earned runs. He will make his next start Sunday in Oakland.


    Chase Whitley hit hard in loss to O's

    (1:12 am ET) Yankees starting pitcher Chase Whitley took a step back Sunday night against the Orioles in Baltimore. In a rain-shortened game that last only five innings, Whitley was pulled after 3 2/3 innings. The right-hander allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four, dropping to 4-3 on the season.

    Whitley enters the All-Star break with a 5.10 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP over 54 2/3 innings of work. It remains to be seen if he'll keep a spot in the rotation after the break.


    Justin Turner draws two walks in first rehab game

    (7/13/2014) Dodgers infielder Justin Turner began a minor-league rehab assignment Sunday with Class A Rancho Cucamonga. Turner served as a designated hitter and finished 1 for 2 with two walks in his first game action. Barring any setbacks, Turner could be back from the disabled list after three rehab games.

    Orioles part ways with Tim Alderson

    (7/13/2014) The Orioles have released pitcher Tim Alderson from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday. Alderson posted a 6.12 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 50 innings at Triple-A.

    Mike Trout plates four runs in win over Texas

    (7/13/2014) Angels outfielder Mike Trout drove in four runs in his team's 10-7 win over the Rangers in Arlington on Sunday.

    Trout emptied the bases with a three-run double in the second inning. He also added a run-scoring double in the fourth. He finished 2 for 4 with a walk, a run scored and four RBI. He owns a .310/.400/.606 slash line with 22 homers and 73 RBI in 345 at-bats.

    Mike O'Neill sent outright to Double-A Springfield

    (7/13/2014) The Cardinals sent outfielder Mike O'Neill outright to Double-A Springfield on Sunday. O'Neill is batting .262 with one home run and 26 RBI in 305 at-bats between Triple-A Memphis and Double-A Springfield.
