(2:09 am ET) Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos went 3 for 5 in Tuesday's loss to Pittsburgh. 

Castellanos is 7 for the last 17 and has hit in five of the last six games. 


Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen earns save Tuesday

(2:07 am ET) Dodgers pitcher Kenley Jansen recorded the final three outs of the game Tuesday to earn his 12th save of the season during the 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Jansen did allow one hit and a double, which led to one run, but he also struck out two batters. He now has a 1.08 ERA on the season and he has converted 12 of his 13 save chances this season.


James McCann gets three hits for Tigers

(1:54 am ET) Tigers catcher James McCann went 3 for 6 in Tuesday's 14-inning loss to Pittsburgh. 

McCann is 5 for his last 10 with RBI in his last two games. He hit his 11th double and drove in his 16th run. 


Dodgers SP Carlos Frias receives no-decision in Tuesday's start

(1:52 am ET) Dodgers pitcher Carlos Frias received a no-decision during his start Tuesday at Arizona.

Frias allowed three runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings of work. He also struck out one and walked three during the outing. His biggest mistake was giving up a two-run home run to Nick Ahmed in the fourth inning. The Dodgers won the game 6-4 in the extra innings.

Frias has now failed to pitch at least six innings in his last four starts and he has just one win in his last six starts.


Neil Walker hits game-winning double for Pirates

(1:52 am ET) Pirates second baseman Neil Walker hit a game-winning double in the 14th inning of Tuesday's win over Detroit.

Walker went 2 for 6 and hit in his fourth straight game. He got his first RBI since June 5, ending a 15-game, 49 at-bat drought. 

Walker has 19 doubles and 24 RBI. 


Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa receives no-decision Tuesday

(1:51 am ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa produced a solid outing Tuesday against the Dodgers, but he received a no-decision for his effort.

De La Rosa allowed two runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings of work. He also struck out seven and walked one. He now has a 4.60 ERA. The Diamondbacks lost the game 6-4 in extra innings.

Tuesday's start broke his three-game streak of pitching at least seven innings as well as receiving a quality start.


Tigers' J.D. Martinez hit another home run

(1:47 am ET) Tigers right fielder J.D. Martinez hit a game-tying two-run home run in the eighth inning, sending Tuesday's game to extras. The Tigers eventually lost in 14.

Martinez hit his 20th homer of the year. He's homered in four of the last five games and has seven homers in the last seven. 

Martinez went 3 for 6 with two runs scored. 


Tom Gorzelanny takes loss in relief for Pirates

(1:44 am ET) Pirates reliever Tom Gorzelanny entered in the 14th inning and gave up doubles to the first two batters he faced. 

Gorzelanny dropped to 1-2 with his first loss since April 23. He hadn't allowed multiple hits or a run since June 20.


Pirates' Deolis Guerra earns first career win

(1:40 am ET) Pirates reliever Deolis Guerra pitched three scoreless innings to earn his first career win, Tuesday against Detroit.

Guerra pitched the 12th, 13th and 14th innings, allowing three hits and striking out three. He hasn't allowed a run or walked a batter in three career appearances. 


Pirates' Tony Watson gives up homer in blown save

(1:37 am ET) Pirates reliever Tony Watson gave up a two-run home run to blow a two-run lead in the eighth inning. The Pirates eventually won in 14 innings. 

Watson allowed his first homer since April 21 and blew his first save opportunity of the year. He's 0 for 5 in his career on save opportunities.
