    Yankees add Williams, Austin, two more to 40-man roster

    (4:26 pm ET) The Yankees announced Thursday they added outfielder Tyler Austin, pitcher Danny Burawa, pitcher Branden Pinder and outfielder Mason Williams to the 40-man roster. The Yankees also sold the rights of infielder Zelous Wheeler to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League.

    Williams was considered the Yankees' third-best prospect by Baseball America heading into the 2014 season.

    (4:17 pm ET) The Angels announced Thursday they added catcher Jett Bandy and pitcher Danny Reynolds to the 40-man roster. The team also announced pitcher Michael Roth and catcher Jackson Williams were designated for assignment.

    Marlins add five to 40-man roster

    (4:13 pm ET) The Marlins added catcher Austin Barnes and pitchers Adam Conley, Domingo German,Justin Nicolino and Matt Ramsey to their 40-man roster, reports the team's website. All the minor-leaguers are now protected from December's Rule 5 draft.

    Astros add two players to 40-man roster, outright Bass to Triple-A

    (4:09 pm ET) The Astros announced Thursday they added infielder Ronald Torreyes and pitcher Vincent Velasquez to the 40-man roster. Pitcher Anthony Bass was also outrighted to Triple-A.

    Torreyes hit .298 with two home runs, five triples, 20 doubles and 46 RBI in 126 games last season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. 

    Velasquez went 7-5 with a 3.52 ERA in 18 appearances (13 starts) between Rookie League and high Class A last season.


    White Sox make slew of roster moves, take Belisario off 40-man roster

    (3:30 pm ET) The White Sox announced Thursday they added pitcher Frankie Montas, infielder Rangel Ravelo, infielder Tyler Saladino and catcher Kevan Smith to the 40-man roster. They also outrighted outfielder Jared Mitchell to Triple-A Charlotte.

    Chicago claimed pitcher Onelki Garcia off waivers from the Dodgers and designated pitcher Ronald Belisario for assignment to clear a roster spot.


    Rangers sign Gimenez, Martinez to minor-league deals

    (3:25 pm ET) The Rangers announced Thursday they signed catcher Chris Gimenez and pitcher David Martinez to minor-league deals. Both players received invites to spring training as non-roster invitees.

    Tigers claim Zeid from Astros, take Carrera off 40-man roster

    (3:22 pm ET) The Tigers claimed pitcher Josh Zeid off waivers from the Astros on Thursday. To clear a roster spot, Tigers outfielder Ezequiel Carrera was designated for assignment.

    Athletics add 20-year-old slugger Renato Nunez to 40-man roster

    (3:17 pm ET) The Athletics announced Thursday they added infielder Renato Nunez to the 40-man roster. The 20-year-old Nunez hit .279 with 28 doubles, 29 home runs and 96 RBI in 124 games for Class A Stockton last season.
