Yankees SP Ivan Nova declares himself fine for Sunday start
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:22 pm ET) Yankees starter Ivan Nova provided a positive report after leaving his last start with arm fatigue. He expects to make his next start Sunday against the host White Sox.

"I'm not hurt or anything like that, so there isn't any reason to think that I'm not going to pitch," he told the New York Daily News. "...I feel good."

Nova was removed from his last start after throwing 75 pitches. Joe Girardi confirmed that he was dealing with some fatigue in his triceps area. His outing was only his sixth since returning from Tommy John surgery.

Report: Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw could lose Wednesday start
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:49 am ET) Dodgers co-ace Clayton Kershaw could be scratched from his start Wednesday night against Oakland, a source has told Fox Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal. He is dealing with soreness in his glute/hip area.

There has been no confirmation by the team.

If Kershaw is indeed out, Mike Bolsinger will take his place on the mound and the left-hander will be pushed back to Friday.

Kershaw has had 13 consecutive quality starts and has not allowed a run since July 3. His ERA is at a season-low 2.51.

Dodgers snag SP Mat Latos, 1B Mike Morse from Marlins
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:38 am ET) The Dodgers have acquired hot pitcher Mat Latos and first baseman Mike Morse from the Marlins for prospects that include at least one competitive balance pick, CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman has confirmed.

The Marlins will receive three minor leaguers, per the Miami Herald.

Latos has managed four consecutive quality starts in which he has allowed just six runs in 26 innings to lower his ERA from 5.49 to 4.48.

Morse lost his starting job to Justin Bour early in the year before losing time to injury. He has played sparingly since returning and owns a meager slash line on the year of .214/.277/.314.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:23 am ET) The Cubs have made a slew of moves in the wake of their placement of reliever Neil Ramirez (abdominal) on the disabled list.

The team has recalled right-handed relievers Ben Rowen and Yoervis Medina from Triple-A Iowa and optioned starter Dallas Beeler.

Beeler certainly didn't earn his stay. He compiled an ugly 9.72 ERA in three starts.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:51 am ET) Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton continues to take baby steps in his recovery from left hamate surgery. He has been cleared to take swings off a tee, per Fox Sports.

Dan Jennings has not ruled out the possibility of Stnaton returning next week when the Marlins close out a nine-game homestand.

"His hand looks good," Jennings said. "It's healed. The scar looks well. Now he's going to start off the tee ... he'll progress at his timetable. It's good to see him making strides the right way."
