Braves RP Jim Johnson gives up two costly runs in Friday's loss
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(1:14 am ET) Braves reliever Jim Johnson had a rough eighth inning in Friday's loss to the Giants. Johnson, who came into the game with the Giants up 2-1, proceeded to give up two more runs, as the Giants won 4-2.

Though he wasn't given a loss or a blown save, Johnson's poor performance could have prevented the Braves from a comeback. Had the Giants not scored in the eighth, Freddie Freeman's ninth-inning home run would have tied the game up at two.

In that eighth inning, Johnson gave up two hits and two runs. He walked two and hit a batter, as his ERA rose to 3.09. The outing put an end to his nine-game scoreless streak.
