"We're working on flexibility, mobility and strengthening," Hurdle said. "That's not to say that can't change in another 24 hours with A.J. He's really tried to not do some things at all and do a lot of things. As far as his rehab goes, he didn't want to do anything as far as moving around other than strengthening, loosening and working on the flexion part of it."

Burnett is still not scheduled to begin throwing, which means he has no current timetable for his possible return. 

Arroyo allowed just one unearned run in seven innings of work, but that was nearly enough to earn him a loss. He left the game down 1-0, and it took a ninth-inning home run by Jay Bruce to get Arroyo off the hook for the loss.

Arroyo gave up six hits and three walks in the outing, while striking out three batters. The run came around to score on an error by Arroyo in the third inning, as he could not handle a bated ball from Russell Martin.

Arroyo has lowered his ERA to 3.04, but has just one win over his last four outings, despite all of them being quality starts. He is 6-5 on the season heading into his next start, scheduled for Tuesday in Oakland. 

Buehrle gave up two earned runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings to improve to .500 at 4-4 on the year. He allowed a Carlos Gonzalez solo homer and scattered his runs given up in the second and fifth innings. Buehrle threw 92 pitches before leaving and his ERA is at 4.60. 

The 34-year-old veteran, who struck out four Wednesday, has won his last two outings with two runs allowed over 12 frames with 11 Ks. He's slowly getting on track and makes his next scheduled start Tuesday at Tampa Bay. 

Hughes was blasted by the Dodgers offense as he allowed five earned runs on 10 hits scattered over six innings. He threw 96 pitches and was lucky to get as deep as he did into the game. Hughes did not walk a batter and had three strikeouts as he took the loss to fall to 3-6 on the year with a 5.09 ERA. 

The 26-year-old enigma has dropped back-to-back outings with eight runs allowed on 14 hits over just 10 1/3 innings. He walked five his last time out, but at least righted that ship Wednesday. Hughes has been right around that 5.00 ERA plateau for a while now and can't seem to get on track. 

Hughes doesn't currently have another scheduled start, though he's likely to make his next outing Tuesday against Texas. 

Mendoza surrendered a solo homer to Michael Brantley in the fifth inning and went on to give up three more runs in the sixth before leaving without recording an out in the frame. He gave up four earned runs on four hits and three walks over five innings and took the loss to fall to 2-4 on the year. 

The starter, who struck out three Wednesday, has an ERA of 4.30 on the year. He won his last time out and had given up just two runs over 13 innings in his previous two outings before the Indians beat him. 

Mendoza doesn't yet have his next scheduled start set in stone, though it appears likely to come Wednesday against Atlanta as the Royals have a few off days in between. 

Masterson saw the Tribe score once in the bottom of the fifth and three more times in the sixth as he left with a 4-2 lead. He earned the win on the outing to improve to 9-5 on the year with a solid 3.48 ERA. 

Masterson allowed just the two earned runs on nine hits scattered over 6 1/3 innings. He walked two batters and struck out eight over 115 pitches. The Cleveland veteran has now allowed just three runs over his last 13 1/3 innings with 18 Ks over that stretch. 

He rebounded from losses in his previous two decisions, and has 110 Ks over 108 2/3 innings on the year. The Indians haven't set Masterson's next scheduled start in stone, but he's likely to make his next appearance Tuesday at Baltimore. 

Locke allowed just four hits in seven innings of work, only two of which went for extra-bases. He walked three batters as well, but stranded each runner that reached base. The closest the Reds came to scoring was in the second inning, when Zack Cozart was thrown out at home by Starling Marte following a double by catcher Ryan Hanigan.

Despite his strong performance, Locke took a no-decision in the outing, as the Pirates went on to lose the game, 2-1, in 13 innings. Lock is 6-1 on the season, with a 2.01 ERA that ranks second in the National League. He has allowed just four runs in his last seven starts, while lowering his ERA from 3.15 to where it stands now.

Lock's next start is scheduled for Tuesday in Seattle. 

Dempster fell to 4-8 on the year for Boston with a 4.23 ERA as he allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He threw 108 pitches and struck out three batters. Dempster was hurt by a Desmond Jennings solo homer in the first.

The Boston bullpen only allowed the Rays' lead to widen after Dempster left the game. The 36-year-old has lost back-to-back outings despite giving up just five runs over 13 2/3 innings over that stretch. He pitched worse in the two previous outings, but won both of those.

Dempster has struggled this season, but does at least consistently give Boston innings. He is expected to make his next scheduled startTuesday against Colorado. 

Hellickson improved to 5-3 for the season with a 5.50 ERA as he allowed just two earned runs on seven hits and no walks over six frames in a quality start. He struck out four for the Rays.

The 26-year-old rebounded after he had allowed eight earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in his previous outing against the Royals in a losing effort. He won two straight before that, however, and seems to be back on track. Hellickson will make his next scheduled start Monday against Toronto. 

Kendrick allowed just one run on two hits in 7 2/3 innings of work, but lost a chance at victory due to bullpen issues. He allowed the one run in the seventh inning, as he walked one batter and gave up an RBI single to Jayson Werth with two out.

Kendrick took a no-decision in the start, despite lowering his ERA to 3.56. He struck out six batters and walked just one, while throwing 61 of 92 pitches for strikes. The Phillies would blow Kendrick's 2-1 lead in the ninth inning, and go on to lose 6-2 in 11 innings.

Kendrick is 6-4 on the season, but is winless in his last three outings, despite two quality starts. He will try to snap this winless skid in his next start, scheduled for Tuesday in San Diego.
