Barry Enright hooks up with Dodgers in minor league deal
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:53 pm ET) The Dodgers have signed to a minor league contract right-hander Barry Enright, whose career has been going downhill since a briefly encouraging run with Arizona in 2010. He is set to pitch Monday night for Triple-A Albuquerque

The 28-year-old Enright has pitched in just 14 major league games since recording a 6-7 mark with a 3.91 ERA with the Diamondbacks that season.

Kameron Loe breaks hand in minor-league brawl
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(5:48 pm ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Kameron Loe broke his hand in a minor-league brawl, according to MLB.com.

Loe has only played in six games at Triple-A Reno. He's compiled a 9.00 ERA over 10 games played. Loe has not appeared in the majors this season.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(5:44 pm ET) Brewers minor-league infielder Nick Delmonico has been suspended 50 games.

Delmonico tested positive for an amphetamine. He was acquired by the club last season in the Francisco Rodriguez deal. Delmonico was hitting .262 ove 141 at-bats in Class A.

Report: Red Sox don't plan on trading Koji Uehara
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5:43 pm ET) According to a report from Comcast SportsNet Northeast, the Red Sox have no intentions of trading closer Koji Uehara before Thursday's trade deadline.

The 39-year-old has converted 21 saves in 23 attempts, with a 1.52 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP this season. The Red Sox are expected to make a qualifying offer to Uehara in the neighborhood of $15 million for next season, according to the report.

Phillies asking for 'the world' in talks for Cole Hamels
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(5:39 pm ET) The Phillies want "the world" for pitcher Cole Hamels, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.

The club is willing to trade Hamels, but only if there's a big return. Hamels can block trades to 20 clubs, but could be willing to waive his no-trade clause based on the Phillies poor performance. Hamels is still owed $105 million on his deal, which could limit the teams that can actually make a play for the left-hander.

Over 122 1/3 innings, Hamels has a 2.72 ERA.

Kenny Wilson gets DFA'd by A's
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5:36 pm ET) The Athletics have designated outfielder Kenny Wilson for assignment Monday, in order to clear room for newly promoted outfielder Billy Burns on Monday, according to MLB.com. Wilson is hitting .218 with two homers and 27 RBI in 330 at-bats between four different organizations in the minors, including Triple-A Sacramento and Triple-A Rochester.

Ryan Hanigan on schedule to rejoin Rays on Friday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:36 pm ET) Rays catcher Ryan Hanigan will begin a rehab stint Wednesday with Class A-Advanced Charlotte and could return to the big league team as early as Friday, per the Tampa Bay Times.

A left oblique injury has sidelined Hanigan since July 8. He will seek to improve his production at the plate upon his return. Hanigan was hitless in his last five games before going down as his average fell to .212.

Padres leaning toward keeping Ian Kennedy
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(5:33 pm ET) The Padres are leaning toward keeping pitcher Ian Kennedy, according to the New York Post.

The club flirted with the idea of dealing Kennedy, but didn't get the offer it was looking for. Kennedy will miss his Monday start due to a minor oblique injury, which means he won't start again before the trade deadline. The team seems unconcerned about this because it was leaning toward keeping Kennedy and revisiting the situation during the offseason.

Kennedy has a 3.66 ERA over 135 1/3 innings.

Craig Kimbrel blows away Padres for 32nd save
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:27 pm ET) Braves closer Craig Kimbrel left no doubt about his dominance Monday against San Diego. He not only retired the Padres in order to close out a victory, but he struck out the side in the process.

Kimbrel is now tied with St. Louis closer Trevor Rosenthal for the major league lead in saves with 32. He has allowed just one earned run in 13 appearances since June 20.

Mark Teixeira aiming for Tuesday return
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5:25 pm ET) Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will take batting practice Sunday in Arlington, and if all goes well, he may be able to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Teixeira was sidelined for his eighth consecutive game on Monday against the Rangers, but told reporters he feels some improvement. It remains to be seen if he'll be available off the bench for Joe Girardi.

Teixeira is hitting .231 over 273 at-bats. He still leads the club with 17 home runs and 48 RBI, despite having missed 28 games this season..
