Chris Tillman readying for Friday start
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:44 pm ET) Orioles ace Chris Tillman, who was set to start Wednesday before the Tuesday rainout pushed him back, told the Baltimore Sun that he's preparing to start Friday in Boston. He will have gone seven days between starts.

Tillman hopes the extra time off won't curtail his momentum. He boasts an 0.84 ERA in three starts with 15 hits and 15 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:23 pm ET) Promising middle infielder Nick Franklin was en route to Arlington to join the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon, a baseball source told MLB.com.

The team had yet to confirm the promotion of Franklin from Triple-A Tacoma, but he even indicated it in a tweet.

Franklin will likely receive playing time in the outfield with shortstop Brad Miller and second baseman Robinson Cano set at his familiar spots.

Blister likely won't sideline Kevin Gausman from next start
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:46 am ET) Orioles promising pitching prospect Kevin Gausman will probably not miss his next Triple-A start despite developing a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand Tuesday night, the Baltimore Sun has reported.

Aroldis Chapman set to throw second bullpen session
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11:38 am ET) Reds closer Aroldis Chapman (head) is scheduled to throw his second bullpen session Thursday, per the Cincinnati Enquirer. He is scheduled to travel with the team and throw every third day.

Manager Bryan Price said after three or four more bullpen sessions, Chapman could be ready for live batting practice. Chapman will need to receive medical clearance before throwing to live batters.

"His arm's in great shape, it's just getting his endurance," Price said. "He was really shut down in all capacities, he wasn't able to condition a great deal. He has been able to go out and play catch and kept his arm in shape and then he's built up his endurance from running and he'll have to build up his endurance throwing, as well."

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11:33 am ET) Marlins starting pitcher Jacob Turner (shoulder) is expected to throw off flat ground again Wednesday after throwing pain-free from 60 feet Tuesday, per MLB.com.

Turner, who could throw off a mound as early as this weekend, will likely make at least one rehab start before coming off the disabled list.

Feldman, who owns a 2-0 record and 0.44 ERA, is set to start Thursday against Kansas City. Grossman has heated up with four hits, including two home runs, in his last 16 at-bats after a horrific start. But he is still batting .125 on the season.
