Dallas Keuchel wins 11th for Astros

(11:22 pm ET) Astros starter Dallas Keuchel won his 11th game of the season, improving to 11-3 with a win over Cleveland on Monday. 

Keuchel won his third straight start and fourth in the last five. 

Keuchel wasn't at the top of his game. He matched a season low with six innings pitched and allowed a season-high nine hits. 

Keuchel allowed three runs and struck out eight. 


Padres SP James Shields allows one run in Monday's loss

(11:18 pm ET) Padres pitcher James Shields was solid throughout his start against the Pirates on Monday, but it was not enough as the Padres fell 2-1.

Shields allowed one unearned run on two hits over seven innings of work. Shields walked one and struck out three during the outing. He received a no-decision for his effort and his ERA is now 3.88.

After starting the season 7-0, Shields is now winless in his last six starts. However, he has earned a quality start in his last two outings.


Eugenio Suarez homers in Reds' win

(11:17 pm ET) Reds shortstop Eugenio Suarez hit his third home run of the year in Monday's win over Washington. 

After hitting one home run in his first 16 games of the year, Suarez now has two in his last five games. He went 3 for 4 with two RBI, getting as many hits as he had in his previous 12 at bats, spanning four games. 


Nationals' Danny Espinosa homers in two-hit game

(11:13 pm ET) Nationals infielder Danny Espinosa went 2 for 4 in Monday's loss to Cincinnati, the second day in a row Espinosa has had multiple hits in a game. Espinosa has hit in the last three and his 5 for his last 10. 

Espinosa had his 15th double and ninth home run of the year in the game. It's the first time he's had multiple extra-base hits in a game since getting two doubles on June 30. He went deep for the first time since June 10. 


Pirates SP A.J. Burnett receives no-decision Monday

(11:11 pm ET) Despite producing a solid outing Monday, Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett received a no-decision during the 2-1 win over the Padres.

Burnett allowed one run on five hits over 7 2/3 innings. He also walked three and struck out four during the outing. His ERA is now 1.99.

Burnett has now earned a quality start in his last six starts. He has surrendered a total of four earned runs over his last 20 2/3 innings of work.


Reds' Aroldis Chapman notches 17th save

(11:09 pm ET) Reds closer Aroldis Chapman recorded his 17th save of the season in Monday's win over Washington. 

Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth to protect a one-run lead and convert his eighth save opportunity in a row. 

Chapman hasn't allowed a run in his 10 appearances and hasn't surrendered a hit in his last four. 


Orioles' Jason Garcia tosses scoreless inning in rehab outing Monday

(11:05 pm ET) Orioles pitcher Jason Garcia began his rehab assignment at Double-A on Monday by throwing a scoreless inning.

Garcia did not allow a hit during the appearance. Garcia has been sidelined since May 11 with right shoulder tendinitis.


Blue Jays' Chris Colabello hits eighth home run of season Monday

(10:58 pm ET) Blue Jays first baseman Chris Colabello smacked his eighth home run of season during Monday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Colabello hit the solo shot off Chris Sale in the third inning. The home run was his only hit in three at-bats.

Prior to Monday's loss Colabello was hitting .333 with three home runs and 10 RBI in his last 17 games.


Anthony DeSclafani takes no-decision in Reds' win

(10:54 pm ET) Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani went his fifth straight start without a win, against Washington on Monday. 

DeSclafani is 0-2 with three no-decisions since his last win, on June 9. He lasted 5 2/3 innings, the sixth time in a row he hasn't completed seven innings in a start. 

DeSclafani allowed two runs on five hits. He walked four and struck out six. 


Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson homers in losing effort Monday

(10:51 pm ET) Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson connected on his 20th home run of the season during Monday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Donaldson hit the solo shot off Chris Sale in the sixth inning. He finished the game 2 for 3 at the plate. Prior to his two-hit game Monday, Donaldson was hitting .250 with two home runs and 10 RBI in his last 15 games.
