Taveras has been splitting time evenly with Craig in right field, starting 11 of the last 22 games. The top prospect hasn't lit the league on fire yet, hitting just .208/.238/.271 in the first 96 at-bats of his career.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(2:17 pm ET) The Red Sox have announced top pitching prospect Anthony Ranaudo will make his major-league debut Friday against the Yankees, after a flurry of trades left the team in need of starters.

Ranaudo has been dominant at times at Triple-A Pawtucket this season, posting a 2.41 ERA in 119 1/3 innings, with 99 strikeouts and 49 walks. With the Red Sox having moved two starts at the trade deadline, he could remain in the rotation moving forward.
