Phillies' Ryan Howard earns no-trade rights Saturday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11:05 am ET) Phillies' first baseman Ryan Howard earned 10-and-5 no-trade rights Saturday, reaching 10 years of service time (and at least five with the same team).

Despite Howard's newfound no-trade rights, it's not believed that his status would affect a potential trade, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. His contract had already allowed him to block trades to all but nine teams.

"I don't think it's a big deal," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said the effect of Howard's new rights on a potential trade. "It's a big deal for him, for two reasons: I think he should be recognized for [having] the most games played at first base in our franchise. That's a pretty awesome feat, No. 1. And No. 2, obviously he's been a long-standing member of this club and has had a great deal to do with the success."

Howard, a former Rookie of the Year and MVP, has hit just .177/.235/.380 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 79 at-bats.

Cubs' Kris Bryant strikes out four times Saturday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10:54 am ET) Cubs rookie third baseman Kris Bryant struck out four times in a game for the first time this season in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Brewers, who fed the young hitter a steady diet of off-speed pitches, MLB.com reports.

"That’s what happens in the major leagues, you have to adjust," manager Joe Maddon said. "He was swinging at some pitches out of the zone today, too. Just get back into the zone because that’s something he had been doing well coming out of spring training, wasn’t chasing. He’s been doing it for the most part this season. He’s been doing really well at maintaining the integrity of his strike zone. I’m fully confident he’ll do that again."

Bryant has hit .280/.429/.360 with four doubles and 10 RBI in 50 at-bats. He's yet to homer during the regular season after smacking nine home runs in 40 spring-training at-bats.

Tim Beckham replaces Asdrubal Cabrera for Rays
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(10:53 am ET) Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera was not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game, just the third time this season he's missed a start.

Tim Beckham will make his fourth start at short in Cabrera's place, batting seventh in the lineup.

Joey Butler , just called up from Triple-A, is in the lineup, batting fifth and playing DH.

Mets' Wilmer Flores not in lineup Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10:42 am ET) Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores is not in the lineup for a second straight day Sunday against the Nationals.

Flores has started 21 of his team's 25 games at the shortstop position, but Ruben Tejada will get the call for a second straight day. Tejada was 1 for 3 Saturday but is just 4 for 21 with three walks and two doubles on the season, while Flores has hit .240/.278/.387 with three home runs and eight RBI in 75 at-bats.

The Mets are favorites (-110) against the Nationals Sunday.

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Carrera played his first MLB game of 2015 on Saturday, going 1 for 2 with a run scored. He'll bat ninth on Sunday, while Jose Bautista starts his seventh straight game at DH.

Marlins' Gordon, Prado sit Sunday while Ichiro leads off
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10:37 am ET) Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon is not in the lineup for the first time this season Sunday, while third baseman Martin Prado is receiving his second day off in his team's matchup with the Phillies.

Gordon has led off all season, while Prado has been the team's No. 2 hitter for the last games with Christian Yelich out. With the pair on the bench. left fielder Ichiro Suzuki will lead off against the Phillies, while shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria will bat second.

The Marlins are also giving catcher J.T. Realmuto a break after starting the team's last eight games. Jhonatan Solano will draw the start behind the plate in his place.

The Marlins are heavy favorites (-185) Sunday.
