Confidence in Drew Storen lacking
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9:22 pm ET) Nationals reliever Drew Storen's role continues to shrink, as the Washington Post reported Tuesday that team has mostly limited him to lower leverage situations recently. Manager Davey Johnson admitted he is somewhat hesitant to use Storen as a traditional reliever at times, limiting him to use as a right-handed specialist.

"This week was a tough week, because I had him up a lot," Johnson said. "Colorado was a place where you really need to control the match-ups — the ball flies there. When he's right, he's good against both. This year, he's had a little problem with left. But I like the way he's throwing. There was a situation, I like left against left, and I like my lefts right now."

Left-handed batters are hitting .353 against Storen this season, and he has struggled to a career-worst 4.67 ERA in his first 29 games.

David Price feels 'great' after bullpen
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:56 pm ET) Rays starter David Price (triceps) said he felt "great" during bullpen session Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Price should have his rehab schedule set up Wednesday.

Price has been dealing with spring training-type soreness, though the team did not call it a setback and he appears to be fine going forward.

Allen Webster has inside track over Rubby De La Rosa
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:36 pm ET) With Clay Buchholz going on the disabled list, the Red Sox need a starter for Saturday at Detroit, the Boston Globe reports. The two names associated with the spot start have been Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster

Webster seems the more likely option because De La Rosa would have to replace a player going on the disabled list if he gets the call.

Alexi Ogando completes session of long toss
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8:33 pm ET) Rangers starter Alexi Ogando (shoulder) threw long toss prior to Tuesday's game against the A's. Ogando told ESPN he is still dealing with some discomfort and will not throw off a mound until it goes away.

"As far as pain it doesn't feel like pain," Ogando said. "It just feels like inflammation."

Wil Myers records first MLB hit
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:31 pm ET) Rays top prospect Wil Myers, who went 0 for 4 in his major-league debut in the first game of a doubleheader in Boston Tuesday, notched his first career hit in the nightcap, MLB.com reports.

Myers singled into left field in the second inning for the career milestone.

Alex Wilson recalled by Red Sox
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:27 pm ET) The Red Sox recalled reliever Alex Wilson Tuesday after a doubleheader game against the Rays, WEEI.com reports. Wilson will help out in the bullpen.

He's appeared in 17 games for Boston this season with a 2.61 ERA and 1-1 record. He has 17 Ks over 20 2/3 innings.

Ryan Lavarnway called up for Boston
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:26 pm ET) The Red Sox recalled catcher Ryan Lavarnway Tuesday after placing David Ross on the seven-day disabled list for concussions, WEEI.com reports.

Lavarnway went 2 for 8 over three games for Boston earlier in the season back in mid-to-late May.

David Ross goes on concussion DL
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:24 pm ET) The Red Sox placed catcher David Ross on the seven-day disabled list for concussions Tuesday following the first game of a doubleheader against the Rays, WEEI.com reports. Ross took a ball off the mask in his last start and suffered headaches.

Ross went on the concussion disabled list for the second time. He's batting .185 over 65 at-bats.

Clay Buchholz lands on disabled list
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(8:21 pm ET) Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz threw a bullpen session Tuesday to determine his availability for a start later in the week, as he's dealing with a neck injury. Buchholz ended up getting placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9, WEEI.com reports.

Buchholz had been pushed back several times from his scheduled start. He has a 1.71 ERA over 84 1/3 innings with a 9-0 record. Rubby De La Rosa or Allen Webster will start in his place.

Chris Narveson likely one outing away from returning
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8:03 pm ET) Brewers starter Chris Narveson (finger) is likely one rehab outing away from rejoining the club, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The left-hander is scheduled to make his next appearance Wednesday for Triple-A Nashville.

Manager Ron Roenicke is not ready to commit to Narveson as a starter. In fact, he would like to see more out of him in the minors. He is 0-2 with an 8.31 ERA in four minor-league rehab starts.

"I don't want to say that," Roenicke said Tuesday. "We'll see what happens."
