Yankees Mark Teixeira doubles, drives in run for Yankees

(4:50 pm ET) Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira doubled and drove in a run in the Yankees' win over Tampa on Saturday. 

Teixeira went 1 for 3 with a sacrifice fly. He hit his 16th homer and drove in his 59th run. He has six RBI in the last four games. 


Steven Souza hits game-tying home run in ninth for Rays

(4:42 pm ET) Rays right fielder Steven Souza hit a two-run game-tying home run in the ninth inning of Saturday's game. 

Souza went 2 for 4, snapping a nine-game, 24 at bat hitless streak. He also snapped a 13-game home run and RBI drought. He hit his 15th homer and 33rd RBI. 


Brad Boxberger takes loss in relief for Rays

(4:36 pm ET) Rays reliever Brad Boxberger gave up an unearned run to take a walk-off loss against the Yankees on Saturday. 

Boxberger snapped a five-game scoreless streak and lost for the first time since May 27. 

Patterson gave up a double and a walk to start the ninth, then he made a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt to allow the winning run to score. 


Dodgers SP Carlos Frias has MRI on back, next start in question

(4:36 pm ET) Dodgers starting pitcher Carlos Frias had an MRI on a lingering back issue and it revealed he has no structural damage, but his next scheduled start is still in question, according to the Orange County Register.

Frias is next due on the mound June 6 against the Phillies. He has a 5-5 records with a 4.39 ERA this season.


Yankees' Dellin Betances gets win after blowing save

(4:34 pm ET) Yankees closer Dellin Betances blew his first save since May 4, but a walk-off win by the Yankees earned him his first win since May 8. 

Betances entered with two outs in the eighth and a two-run lead. He stranded a runner on second but ran into trouble in the ninth. He gave up a single and a game-tying homer to the first two batters of the ninth before recovering the retire the side.

It was the first home run Betances has allowed since August 13 of last season. He gave up his first runs in five games and moved to 5-1 on the season. 


Yankees bullpen costs Michael Pineda a win

(4:28 pm ET) Yankees starter Michael Pineda pitched seven shutout innings and left with a two-run lead. The bullpen couldn't close the game, however, and Pineda was left with a no-decision on Saturday.

Pineda had his longest shutout stretch since May 5 and struck out 10, the most he's recorded in a game since May 10. He allowed five hits and walked one. 

Pineda hasn't allowed more than two walks in a game all season. 


Rays' Nathan Karns takes no decision with seven innings

(4:23 pm ET) Rays starter Nathan Karns once again pitched well enough to win and had nothing to show for it on Saturday.

Karns matched a season high with seven innings pitched, giving up two runs on five hits. Karns also struck out a career-high 10. 

The Rays couldn't manage a run while Karns was in the game, however, and he left with a no-decision. 

It was the third no-decision in the last five starts for Karns. In one, he allowed one run over six innings, and in the other, he pitched six shutout innings. 


Twins C Chris Herrmann subs in for Suzuki Saturday

(4:22 pm ET) The Twins' Chris Herrmann replaced Kurt Suzuki at the catcher spot for Saturday's game against the Royals.

Suzuki had started five of the previous six games. Herrmann will hit out of the eighth spot in the lineup.


Mets RF Michael Cuddyer (knee) remains out of lineup

(4:05 pm ET) Mets right fielder Michael Cuddyer, who is dealing with a lingering knee injury, is not in the lineup for Saturday's matcup against the Dodgers.

Cuddyer hasn't played since leaving Tuesday's game with the injury. He will be replaced by Curtis Granderson in right field on Saturday.


Dodgers 3B Justin Turner out of lineup Saturday

(3:56 pm ET) Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Turner will be replaced by Alberto Callaspo, who will hit seventh in the lineup.

Turner entered Saturday, hitting .300 with six hits, a home run and two RBI over the last five games.
