Clayton Richard expected to start Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11:36 pm ET) Padres starting pitcher Clayton Richard is on track to be activated from the disabled list Monday to start against the Mariners, MLB.com reports. Richard has been out since May 5 with an intestinal virus.

"He came out of his bullpen fine," Padres manager Bud Black told MLB.com. "It looks as if Clayton is tracking toward Monday."

"I'm definitely excited to be back with the team and I'm ready to pitch when I get the opportunity to," Richard said. "Everything has been going well, and I've been feeling good. That's the reason for everything, to start feeling better, and it feels good to be on the right track."

Edinson Volquez's start has been pushed back to Tuesday.

But he got the win when the White Sox had a walkoff single in the bottom of the inning. Peavy allowed six hits and two walks while striking out five in a 2-1 win -- his longest outing of the season.
