by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:31 pm ET) Braves third baseman Chris Johnson went 0 for 1 during a rehab assignment for the team's Triple-A affiliate Monday.

This is the third game in a row that Elias has only allowed one run. He now has an ERA of 2.56 this season. He hasn't had a game this season where he's given more than three runs.

Elias' next start is projected for Saturday against the Indians.

Rays OF Steven Souza (wrist) could return to lineup Tuesday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:24 pm ET) Rays manager Kevin Cash was hopeful outfielder Steven Souza would be able to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, reports The Tampa Tribune.

Cash added that the reports on Souza's injured wrist are better than initially thought. Souza suffered a sprained left wrist during Sunday's game and he missed Monday's contest.

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(10:22 pm ET) The Mariners are set to activate outfielder Austin Jackson from the disabled list and option pitcher Danny Farquhar to Triple-A Tacoma, according to 710 ESPN in Seattle.

Marlins to recall pitcher Jose Urena to start on Tuesday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(10:06 pm ET) Marlins pitcher Jose Urena will be recalled on Tuesday to start Miami's game against the Pirates, the team announced on Monday.

Padres RP Brandon Maurer settling into late-inning role
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(10:00 pm ET) Padres pitcher Brandon Maurer has not allowed a run in his last 10 outings and pitching coach Darren Balsley said Maurer has found his role in the seventh inning, reports MLB.com.

"I think it's one of the most pivotal innings in baseball… especially when you have the lead," Balsley said.

Maurer has only surrendered four hits over his last 11 games and he has a 2.14 ERA on the season.

"He's doing a really good job," Padres manager Bud Black said. "With each successful outing he gains that confidence. This guy has good stuff; fastball, slider, changeup. I think he found early Major League niche in the bullpen with the Mariners. We've continued that role here. This guy has a good arm and pitches."
