Cloyd held the Marlins to just two runs in seven innings of work, as he allowed eight hits, just two of them for extra-bases. He struck out five and walked just two, while throwing 62 of 105 pitches for strikes.
Cloyd got plenty of run support, after earning a no decision in a 3-2 loss the last time out. The Phillies won, 7-3 Tuesday, giving Cloyd his first win of the season.
Cloyd is set to take on the Red Sox in Boston for his next start, scheduled for Monday.

Straily shut out the Rangers' offense over seven innings on just two hits and no walks and the Oakland bullpen did the rest in the 1-0 win. Straily struck out five batters and threw just 88 pitches before he was removed. His ERA drops to 5.73 from 7.27.
Straily had not gone seven full innings this season before Tuesday and the win runs his record to 2-2. It was his first win since his first start on April 5 at Houston. Straily will look to start a winning streak when he next gets the ball Monday against San Francisco in interleague action.

Niese got the first two batters in the first inning out, but ran into trouble with a pair of two-out walks and a single that loaded the bases. He appeared to get out of the inning when Todd Frazier hit a groundball right at third baseman David Wright, however the ball went through the Gold Glove winner's legs, allowing two runs to score.
Three runs would ultimately come around to score in the first, all unearned, but that was all for Niese over six strong innings. He allowed five hits and three walks, while striking out a season-high seven batters. Unfortunately, those three runs would be enough to sink the Mets, in a 4-0 loss.
Niese took the loss, despite lowering his ERA to 4.80. He is 3-5 through his first 10 starts of the season. He is scheduled to make his next start Monday against the Yankees at home.

Norris, who was originally expected to start Sunday before back spasms pushed him back, allowed just five hits and two walks over six sharp scoreless frames in the no-decision. He struck out two and had thrown just 88 pitches at the time of his departure. His ERA is at 3.86 on the year.
The 28-year-old rebounded nicely from allowing seven runs over five innings his last time out at Detrot in a loss. He's otherwise been solid this year for a poor team. Now his next start is in jeopardy. That start is scheduled for Monday against Colorado, if he can make it.

Jose Quintana was no-hitting the Red Sox until deep in the game and Boston lost 3-1. Doubront allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in the defeat. He struck out three and allowed a two-run homer to Jeff Keppinger in the fifth inning. Doubront's ERA is at 5.61.
The 25-year-old has given up just two runs in each of his last two starts with 10 Ks over that span of 11 innings. Still, he's walking too many and hasn't earned a win since moving to 3-0 back on April 27. His next scheduled outing comes Sunday against Cleveland.

Gausman was not expected to be ready for the majors yet, despite speculation that he could be a viable option. Perhaps his last start for Double-A Bowie made the difference. Gausman earned a win as he allowed one run on four hits and one walk with 10 strikeouts over six innings.
For the season at Double-A, his first as a professional after being drafted last year, he's gone 2-4 with a 3.11 ERA with 49 Ks over 46 1/3 innings. That said, he's allowed two or fewer runs to score in five straight outings.

Rodriguez allowed three runs in the second inning, on four hits, but otherwise held the Cubs silent all game long. He ultimately allowed just the three runs on six hits in six innings of work, while striking out five batters and walking none.
He needed just 87 pitches to finish his six innings of work. He exited the game down 3-0, but the Pirates rallied back in the bottom half of the sixth to put him in line for the win. Pittsburgh would hold on for a 5-4 victory, Rodriguez's fifth of the season. He lowered his ERA to 3.40.
Rodriguez is expected to make his next start Sunday, against the Brewers. He had his worst start of the season against the Brewers in April, but bounce back to limit them to one run in seven innings May 15.
