Scott Baker takes the loss in spot-start

(8:04 pm ET) Rangers pitcher Scott Baker (0-3) took the loss in a spot-start Sunday afternoon at home against the Angels. The right-hander permitted five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three over four innings of a 10-7 defeat.

Baker owns a 6.24 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP over 53 1/3 innings of work. He will likely be demoted to the bullpen for the second half of the season.

Joe Smith tosses 1-2-3 frame for the save

(7:49 pm ET) Angels reliever Joe Smith tossed another 1-2-3 frame for the save Sunday afternoon against the Rangers in Arlington. Smith struck out one and needed only 11 pitches to secure a 10-7 victory. He is 15 for 19 in save opportunities, with a 2.32 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP over 42 2/3 innings of relief.

Tyler Skaggs gets roughed up in win over Rangers

(7:46 pm ET) Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was roughed up despite picking up the win Sunday afternoon against the Rangers in Arlington. The left-hander was shelled for six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings of a 10-7 victory.

Skaggs enters the All-Star break with a 5-5 record, along with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP over 15 starts (96 innings). The Angels have yet to make a decision on their post-break rotation, so Skaggs' next start is yet to be determined.

Travis Wood gets obliterated by the Braves Sunday

(7:42 pm ET) Cubs pitcher Travis Wood was completely obliterated by the Braves Sunday afternoon in Wrigley Field, dropping to 7-8 on the year. The left-hander was shelled for seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings of a 10-7 defeat.

Wood enters the break with a 4.96 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP over 19 starts (110 2/3 innings). He will make his next start Saturday at Arizona.

Craig Kimbrel tosses 1-2-3 inning for the save

(7:39 pm ET) Braves reliever Craig Kimbrel struck out one and needed only seven pitches to complete a 1-2-3 inning for the save Sunday afternoon against the Cubs in Wrigley Field. Kimbrel has converted 29 of 33 save opportunities, with a 1.91 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP over 37 2/3 innings of relief.

Julio Teheran bounces back with win No. 9

(7:37 pm ET) Braves pitcher Julio Teheran was not at his best, but bounced back with a win Sunday afternoon against the Cubs in Chicago. The right-hander yielded four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings a 10-7 victory.

Teheran (9-6) heads into the break with a 2.71 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP over 20 starts (136 1/3 innings). His first start after the break has yet to be determined, as the Braves have yet to announce their post-break rotation plans.

Brock Holt homers, cranks out five hits in win over Houston

(7:26 pm ET) Red Sox infielder Brock Holt cranked out a career-high five hits in an 11-0 win over the Astros in Houston.

Holt launched a solo home run in the opening frame and added four hits. He finished 5 for 6 with two runs scored and one RBI. He owns a .327/.371/.463 slash line with three homers and 21 RBI in 257 at-bats.

Brad Peacock pulled after one out Sunday vs. Boston

(7:18 pm ET) Astros pitcher Brad Peacock was unable to locate his pitches and was pulled after only one out Sunday afternoon against the Red Sox, dropping to 3-6 on the year.

Peacock served up a solo home run to Brock Holt in the opening frame for his only damage of the afternoon. He was charged with one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one in one-third of an inning in an 11-0 defeat.

Peacock enters the break with a 4.39 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP over 84 innings of work. His next start after the break will come July 23 at Oakland.

Clay Buchholz goes the distance in win over Houston

(7:09 pm ET) Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz twirled a gem and went the distance for his fourth win of the season Sunday afternoon against the Astros in Houston. The right-hander yielded three hits and no walks while striking out a season-high 12 over nine innings of work in an 11-0 victory.

Buchholz enters the break with a 5.42 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP over 14 starts (79 2/3 innings). He will make his first start after the break Friday against Kansas City.

Wily Peralta twirls a gem in a win over Cardinals

(7:04 pm ET) Brewers pitcher Wily Peralta finished the first half of the season on a high note, notching his 10th win of the season Sunday afternoon against the Cardinals. The right-hander yielded one unearned run on three hits and no walks while striking out five over seven innings of an 11-2 victory.

Peralta enters the break 10-6, with a 3.72 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP over 19 starts (118 2/3 innings). His next start has yet to be determined, as the Brewers have not yet announced their post-break rotation plans.
