Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez yet to find timing
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:59 pm ET) Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez admitted Sunday that his timing isn't quite where he wants it but feels it will come, MLB.com reports.

"I'm looking to make solid contact, and when it happens a lot of those balls are going to go over the wall," Gonzalez said. "It's something we don't look for. Just good swings -- when you feel consistent with your swing a lot of extra bases and home runs are going to come. I can feel when I'm in the zone and hitting the ball hard. My swing is good. It's just timing. I've been out front often, but the more I play the more I'm going to see the ball better."

Gonzalez has hit just .214/.244/.381 with one home run and five RBI coming into Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Royals pitcher Danny Duffy earns no decision in win Sunday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:57 pm ET) Royals pitcher Danny Duffy allowed two runs on four hits in five innings of work in Kansas City's 4-2 win over the Athletics Sunday.

Duffy worked efficiently through the first two innings, before having issues in the third. Duffy put two runners on with walks before allowing an RBI single to Ben Zobrist. He walked one more batter to load the bases before getting the third out.

Duffy gave up another run in the fifth when Mark Canha singled and then stole second base. Zobrist then singled to center to bring Canha home. Duffy, who also struck out five, now boasts a 5.51 ERA and will look for his second win Friday against the White Sox.

Rockies' Scott Oberg: 'My arm is in really good shape'
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:56 pm ET) Rockies pitcher Scott Oberg entered play Sunday having tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings since being recalled, and he said Sunday that his arm is in "really good shape" after his 2014 ended prematurely due to shoulder surgery, MLB.com reports.

"My arm is in really good shape right now, especially after all the surgery and rehab, and hopefully it will get stronger throughout the season," Oberg said. "I feel I'm where I was before I got hurt."

Oberg has picked up a win and two strikeouts in his two appearances with the team.

Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin, David Hernandez to throw live BP
by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer
(5:56 pm ET) Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said that pitchers Patrick Corbin and David Hernandez are scheduled to throw live batting practice on Tuesday, reports AZCentral.com.

It'll be the first time either pitcher will face real hitters since their Tommy John surgeries.

Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez cracks fifth home run of 2015
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:52 pm ET) Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez went 2 for 4 at the plate in Boston's 8-3 loss to the Orioles Sunday.

Ramirez did his damage early on, crushing the first pitch he saw from Miguel Gonzalez over the Green Monster, driving home Brock Holt and David Ortiz, his fifth home run of the season. Ramirez added a single and is now hitting .255 with 12 RBI in 47 at-bats this season.

Carlos Rodon to join White Sox bullpen Monday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:49 pm ET) White Sox pitching prospect Carlos Rodon will join the major-league team Monday, FOXSports.com reports. CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman later confirmed the report.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Rodon has posted a 3.60 ERA and 13:4 K:BB ratio in 10 innings over his first two starts with Triple-A Charlotte. Though his long-term future in Chicago is in the rotation, he will initially pitch out of the team's bullpen. The reduced workload will allow the team to limit his innings workload in his second professional season.

Orioles second baseman Ryan Flaherty rips second homer Sunday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:47 pm ET) Orioles second baseman Ryan Flaherty went 2 for 4 at the plate in Baltimore's 8-3 win over the Red Sox Sunday.

Flaherty got going early at the plate, ripping a 1-1 pitch from Rick Porcello over the center field wall for a solo home run in the second inning, his second of the season. Flaherty added a double in the seventh, but was left stranded.

He is now hitting .286 in 21 at-bats this season.

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones continues torrid pace Sunday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:43 pm ET) Orioles outfielder Adam Jones continues to swing one of the hottest bats in baseball and did more of the same Sunday, going 4 for 5 with a double, a home run and five RBI in Baltimore's 8-3 win over the Red Sox.

Jones  got things going early when he ripped an 0-1 pitch from Rick Porcello over the left center field wall for a two-run home run, his fifth of the season. Jones, who also singled twice, kept things rolling in the sixth when he ripped a double to deep center field with the bases loaded, driving home all three runners.

Jones now has a league-leading 16 RBI this season and is hitting .457 in 46 at-bats.

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(5:43 pm ET) Garrett Jones made the most of the chance to start in right field for the Yankees. Filling in for Carlos Beltran, who was suffering from an illness, Jones went 3 for 4 in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay.

Jones hit his first triple of the year and scored a run. He improved his average to .278.
