Daniel Nava could be the odd man out
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:40 am ET) Red Sox outfielder Daniel Nava could be the odd man out of the team's outfield once Shane Victorino returns, according to the Boston Herald

Nava has options remaining, which could make him the ideal candidate to be sent down. Jackie Bradley Jr. also has options, but the team is happy with his defense in center. Nava has had a tough time getting things going early, hitting .136 in 59 at-bats.

Curtis Granderson moved to second in the order
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:37 am ET) Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has been moved to the second spot in the order Sunday against the Braves.

Manager Terry Collins told reporters he planned to move Granderson out of the cleanup spot, though it was unclear where Granderson would slot in to the lineup. Daniel Murphy will hit fourth. Granderson has struggled to open the year, hitting .140 in 57 at-bats.

James Jones optioned to Triple-A Sunday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:30 am ET) Mariners outfielder James Jones has been optioned to Triple-A Sunday.

Jones was sent down in order to make room for Sunday's starter, Brandon Maurer. Jones singled in his only at-bat in the majors.

Brandon Maurer called up for Sunday start
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:28 am ET) Mariners pitcher Brandon Maurer has been called up for his start Sunday.

The move was expected, as Maurer's start had been known about for some time. James Jones was optioned to the minors in order to make room for Maurer. Maurer is making his season debut against the Marlins.

Michael Bourn returns Sunday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:26 am ET) Indians outfielder Michael Bourn returned to the starting lineup Sunday.

Bourn sat out Saturday's game, but it was just a routine day off. He did miss time earlier in the week due to a hamstring injury. Bourn is hitting .077 in 13 at-bats.

Jake Odorizzi moved to Wednesday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:14 am ET) Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi will pitch Wednesday against the Twins, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Odorizzi was initally scheduled to go Tuesday, but the team is shifting their rotation during Monday's off day. He'll still take on the Twins, it will just happen a day later than expected.

Odorizzi has a 5.63 ERA in 16 innings.

David Price has start moved up
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9:09 am ET) Rays pitcher David Price will start Tuesday against the Twins, according to the Tampa Tribune.

The club is moving their rotation around during Monday's off day. Price will stay on normal rest and start Tuesday. He was initially slated to go Wednesday. He will be following by Jake Odorizzi and Erik Bedard.

Price has posted a 4.39 ERA in 26 2/3 innings.

Jackie Bradley Jr. expected to retain starting job
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(8:55 am ET) Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. is expected to retain a starting job once Shane Victorino returns from the disabled list, according to the Boston Herald.

It was initially thought that one of either Bradley or Grady Sizemore would be sent to the minors once Victorino returned, but that may no longer be the case. Bradley has solidified the team's defense in center, which may be the reason he's keeping the job.

Bradley is hitting .220 in 50 at-bats.

Adam Eaton to miss at least three games
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(8:50 am ET) White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton is expected to miss at least three games due to a hamstring injury, according to CSN.

There are no plans to put Eaton on the disabled list at this time. Instead, the team will give him a few days of rest to recover. Eaton initially injured his ankle Friday, but aggravated his hamstring during Saturday's game.

Eaton is hitting .282 in 71 at-bats.

Craig Kimbrel apologizes for actions on the mound Saturday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(8:38 am ET) Braves closer Craig Kimbrel apologized to manager Fredi Gonzalez for his actions during Saturday's game, according to MLB.com.

Kimbrel was removed after loading the bases during a save situation. He expressed a clear displeasure with Gonzalez for making the move, but immediately apologized after the game. Kimbrel said his competitive nature got the best of him. After missing a couple days with arm soreness, Kimbrel indicated that his shoulder was not an issue during the appearance.

Kimbrel has a 4.26 ERA in 6 1/3 innings.
