(12:16 am ET) Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco went 3 for 4 with three doubles and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.

Franco is hitting a whopping .392 with 20 hits, five doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI over his last 12 games.


Royals P Edinson Volquez strikes out 8 in no-decision

(12:14 am ET) Royals pitcher Edinson Volquez allowed five earned runs in a no-decision during Wednesday night's 6-5 loss to the Astros. 

Volquez went five innings, gave up eight hits, walked one batter and struck out eight. Volquez pitched four strong before allowing four runs in the fifth. Volquez now has an ERA of 3.48 this season. 


Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez records two hits, two RBI in win

(12:14 am ET) Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

Ramirez recorded his 17th double on the season in the third inning, which brough two runners around to score.

Ramirez is hitting .500 with six hits, three doubles and seven RBI in his last four games.


Brewers LF Gerardo Parra records three hits in win

Parra is hitting .380 with 19 hits, four doubles and three RBI over his last 13 games.


Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett records three hits, three RBI in win

(12:07 am ET) Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

Gennett continued his hot streak at the plate with the multi-hit performance. Over his last seven games, he is hitting .360 with nine hits, two doubles, two home runs and five RBI.


Astros P Vincent Velasquez strikes out seven in no-decision

(12:05 am ET) Astros pitcher Vincent Velasquez gave up four earned runs in a no-decision during Wednesday night's 6-5 win over the Royals. 

Velasquez went 6 1/3 innings, allowed five hits, walked one batter and struck out seven. Velasquez tied a season-high with his seven strikouts on the mound. He now has 4.21 ERA for the season. 


Brewers 1B Adam Lind gets two hits, slams 11th home run

(12:04 am ET) Brewers first baseman Adam Lind went 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

Lind is hitting .417 with 15 hits, three home runs and 11 RBI over his last 11 games.


Phillies SP Aaron Harang allows 14 hits, eight runs in loss

(12:02 am ET) Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Harang continued his downward spiral this season with an abysmal outing on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Harang lost his eighth consecutive start after allowing 14 hits and eight runs in five innings of work.

Harang (4-11) has allowed 36 earned runs over his last eight starts.


Angels OF Mike Trout hits homer in loss to Yankees

(12:00 am ET) Angels outfielder Mike Trout crushed his 21st home run of the season in Wednesday night's 3-1 loss to the Yankees. 

Trout, whose homer was a solo shot, finished the game 1 for 3 and now has 44 RBI for the season. His homer was the third hit in his past 10 games. Trout now has a slash line of .303/.393/.590 this season. 


Brewers SP Kyle Lohse picks up fifth win of season

(7/1/2015) Brewers starting pitcher Kyle Lohse was just good enough to pick up his fifth win of the season on Wednesday against the Phillies.

Lohse threw 6 1/3 innings, allowed nine hits and four earned runs, but received more than enough run support in a 9-5 win. He struck out four batters and walked two others on a day where his command was a bit spotty. Lohse helped himself out at the plate as well, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored.

Lohse improved to 5-9 on the season with a 6.24 ERA.
