Giants' Bochy won't move starters up after Peavy sent to DL
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:59 pm ET) Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that he will insert either Ryan Vogelsong or Yusmeiro Petit into the rotation against the Dodgers Thursday rather than alter his other starters' schedules after Jake Peavy was placed on the disabled list, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants have an off-day Monday, and the team's regular rotation will receive extra rest rather than bump up in order to cover for Peavy's absence. That will leave Chris Heston and Tim Hudson to face the Rockies in Colorado Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Blue Jays' Devon Travis leaves game after HBP
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:57 pm ET) Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis had to leave Sunday's game after getting hit in the side by a pitch in the first inning.

Travis initially stayed in the game, but he appeared to aggravate the injury when he dove back to first base on a pickoff attempt. He was removed for pinch runner Steve Tolleson.

Mike Zunino, Brad Miller, Dustin Ackley out of Mariners' lineup
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:53 pm ET) The Mariners will be without three regulars in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Texas.

Catcher Mike Zunino, shortstop Brad Miller and left fielder Dustin Ackley are all out of the lineup, getting rest.

Jesus Sucre gets the start at catcher, just his second appearance of the season. He'll hit ninth in the order.

Willie Bloomquist gets his fourth appearance of the year, starting at short and batting seventh. Justin Ruggiano will play left and bat sixth.

Carlos Corporan replaces Robinson Chirinos in Rangers' lineup
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:50 pm ET) Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos is not in Sunday's starting lineup. Chirinos will be replaced by Carlos Corporan, who starts behind the plate and is batting ninth in the order.

It will be Corporan's sixth appearance of the season.

Mitch Moreland out of Rangers lineup on Sunday
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:46 pm ET) Rangers designated hitter Mitch Moreland was not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's game. Moreland has a sore elbow and hasn't played since April 15.

Prince Fielder will be the Rangers' designated hitter on Sunday, moving from first base. Adam Rosales got the start at first, batting sixth in the lineup.

Rockies' Nick Hundley, DJ LeMahieu out of lineup Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:42 pm ET) Rockies catcher Nick Hundley and second baseman DJ LeMahieu are not in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Hundley has started four of the team's last five games but will get a breather Sunday. LeMahieu is out of the starting lineup for the first time this season. The Rockies will bat catcher Michael McKenry seventh and second baseman Daniel Descalso eighth against the Dodgers.

The Rockies are underdogs (+150) in Los Angeles Sunday.

Cubs add Germen, option Szczur, transfer Turner to 60-day DL
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:27 pm ET) The Cubs selected the contract of pitcher Gonzalez Germen and optioned outfielder Matt Szczur to Triple-A Iowa Sunday.

Germen made 25 appearances with the Cubs last season, posting a 4.75 ERA and 31:14 K:BB ratio in 30 1/3 innings. He tossed 4 2/3 hitless innings in Triple-A before being brought up but issued three walks while striking out five.

Szczur went 2 for 10 with three walks and two stolen bases before being optioned.

To clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Germen, the Cubs also transferred pitcher Jacob Turner to the 60-day disabled list. He's recovering from a flexor strain and bone bruise in his elbow.

Diamondbacks' Jake Lamb, Tuffy Gosewisch out of lineup Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:11 pm ET) Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb and catcher Tuffy Gosewisch are not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Lamb batted second Saturday for the first time this season but is out of the lineup Sunday for just the second time in his last eight games. Gosewisch started eight of the last nine games behind the plate. With both players on the bench, the Diamondbacks will bat third baseman Aaron Hill fifth and catcher Jordan Pacheco sixth.

The Diamondbacks are underdogs (+125) in San Francisco Sunday.

Giants' Brandon Belt starting in left field Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:07 pm ET) Giants first baseman Brandon Belt is starting in left field in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Belt has spent all but one inning at first base since the start of the 2013 season, with his only non-1B appearance coming last year, when he played one inning in right field in a game. The position isn't completely foreign to the infielder, as he made 30 starts in 2011 and four starts in 2012 in left field.

The alignment allows manager Bruce Bochy to start Buster Posey and first base and insert Andrew Susac at catcher. With Belt in the outfield, Gregor Blanco is not in the starting lineup.

The Giants are favorites (-135) against the Diamondbacks Sunday.

Mets' Terry Collins: David Wright 'coming along great'
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:02 pm ET) Mets manager Terry Collins said Sunday that third baseman David Wright is "coming along great" in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, ESPN New York reports.

"He's coming along great," Collins said Sunday. "He's going to do some activity today. ... He's going to hopefully get in the weight room and do some stuff."

Wright was placed on the disabled list Wednesday, and while the Mets are hopeful he'll be out the minimum 15 days, general manager Sandy Alderson suggested three weeks is a more realistic timetable.
