Cardinals RP Kevin Siegrist earns first save of season Friday

(11:30 pm ET) Cardinals pitcher Kevin Siegrist entered the eighth inning of Friday's win over the Reds with a 4-1 lead.

Siegrist pitched a scoreless eighth inning before the Cardinals scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Siegrist remained in the game for the ninth inning and he was able to record the last three outs to earn his first save of the season.

In four appearances this season, Siegrist has yet to surrender a run over 2 1/3 innings.


Cardinals SP Michael Wacha earns second win of season Friday

(11:26 pm ET) Cardinals pitcher tossed seven solid innings of work to pick up his second win of the season during Friday's 6-1 win over the Reds.

Over the seven innings, Wacha surrendered five hits and one run, while walking one and striking out four. His lone blemish was a solo home run to Joey Votto.

Despite coming into the game with a 1.42 ERA, Wacha was able to lower it to 1.35. Wacha has yet to allow more than one run in his first two starts of the season and is 2-0. 

His next expected start will be Thursday at Washington.


Angels' Huston Street throws 1-2-3 ninth inning for fourth save of year

(11:24 pm ET) Angels closer Huston Street (S,4) pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning against the Astros on Friday to collect his fourth save of the year. 

Street is four for four in save opportunities and has not allowed a run this season.


Angels starter Jered Weaver allows two runs in six innings for no decision

(11:19 pm ET) Angels starter Jered Weaver yielded two runs on six hits in six innings to earn a no decision on Friday against the Astros.

Weaver struck out three and gave up a solo home run to Astros catcher Jason Castro.

Weaver will look for his first win Wednesday against the A's.

Braves RP Jason Grilli picks up fifth save of season Friday

(11:09 pm ET) Braves pitcher Jason Grilli earned his fifth save of the season during a 8-7 win over the Blue Jays on Friday.

Grilli came in during the ninth inning with a one run lead and got the first two outs, but he then walked Edwin Encarnacion. He was then able to get Dioner Navarro to ground out to end the game.

Grilli is now a perfect five for five on save opportunities this season with a 1.80 ERA.


A's starter Sonny Gray gets racked for 11 hits in six innings in no decision

(11:07 pm ET) Athletics starter Sonny Gray was racked for 11 hits in six innings while allowing four runs and striking out five for the no decision against the Royals on Friday.

Gary's next start is set for Wednesday in Los Angeles against the Angels.

Braves P Julio Teheran gives up five runs Friday

(11:03 pm ET) Braves pitcher Julio Teheran had his worst outing of the season Friday, but the Braves were able to recover to defeat the Blue Jays 8-7.

Teheran surrendered five runs and seven hits over five innings of work. He was able to strike out four batters and walked two.

The long ball was Teheran's downfall Friday. Teheran gave up four home runs to the Blue Jays, including two to Josh Donaldson.

Despite the struggles Friday, Teheran received a no-decision, but his ERA rose from 1.50 to 3.71. Before Friday's start, Teheran had yet to surrender more than one run in his previous two starts.

His next expected start will be Thursday at the New York Mets.


Royals reliever Greg Holland closes door on A's for fourth save

(11:03 pm ET) Royals reliever Greg Holland (S,4) notched his fourth save of the season on Friday, holding the A's to just a walk in a scoreless ninth inning to preserve the win.

Holland has converted all four save opportunities this season and has not allowed a run.

Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie gives up three homers in no decision

(10:59 pm ET) Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie surrendered three solo home runs, four runs overall, in six innings Friday to take a no decision against the Athletics.

Ike Davis hit a sole homer and catcher Stephen Vogt connected for two for the A's.

Guthrie's next start is set for Wednesday against the Twins.

Xander Bogaerts comes through with game-winning RBI for Red Sox

(10:56 pm ET) Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts' one-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning pushed across Mike Napoli for the game winner Friday against the Orioles.

Bogaerts went 2 for 4 with a run scored in the game.
