60-day disabled list Sunday to make room on the roster for the addition of Thad Weber, MLB.com reports.
Santos had minor surgery to clear bone spurs and chips from the joint in his right elbow. He's expected to be out until at least late June.
Cameron Maybin might start rehab assignment Friday

waivers from San Diego Sunday, MLB.com reports. He has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo.
Weber appeared in three games earlier in the season, before being sent to Triple-A Tucson. He had a 4.15 ERA in 13 major-league innings over parts of two seasons.
John Jaso resting pesky leg

stolen base in four straight games. It ties the longest streak of his career, which he first accomplished July 23-26, 2009.
Cabrera, who leads the majors with 15 steals, is batting .364 (8 for 22) with two runs, three walks, four RBI and four stolen bases in his last five games.
Homestand could be remedy for Ike Davis

Ike Davis received a day off Sunday against the Cubs with left-handed pitcher Travis Wood starting. Davis entered play Sunday in a 1-for-30 slump (.033) over his last eight games.
Manager Terry Collins said Davis will be back in the lineup Monday against the Reds, when the team kicks off an eight-game homestand.
"With Cincinnati coming in and with three right-handers again it’s another chance where he can get home and get comfortable," Collins told the New York Daily News. "He feels good in Citi Field. It’s so important, he is such a big part of our lineup, we gotta get him going."
Injury ends Carlos Ruiz's hitting streak

Carlos Ruiz left Sunday's game against the Reds because of a
right hamstring strain. Ruiz was hurt running the bases in the second inning and was replaced by Erik Kratz in the third inning.
Ruiz, who was 0 for 1, saw his hitting streak end at nine games Sunday. He hit .333 (10 for 30) with a double, two RBI, two walks and three runs during the streak.
Stephen Drew plans to return soon

Stephen Drew, who was not starting Sunday against the Twins, plans to return to the lineup shortly, WEEI.com reports. He believes he'll be
over his back issue in the coming days.
"I hope so. I don’t plan on sitting out much longer," said Drew when asked if believed a return was imminent. "I know I needed that day [Saturday], and then we have the quick turnaround [Sunday afternoon]. Give it one more day and hopefully it kind of settles down and we get back after it."
The shortstop is hitting .321 in May with a .969 OPS. He's being replaced at short and in the lineup by Pedro Ciriaco.
Rangers send for Jurickson Profar

Jurickson Profar to Arlington for Sunday's game against the Tigers, ESPN reports. Profar has
not yet been recalled officially, however.
Profar is in Arlington in case the Rangers decide to make a move and he is needed. One of baseball's top prospects, Profar is batting .278 for Triple-A Round Rock in 144 at-bats with four homers, 19 RBI and six steals.
