Mark Teixeira supplies Yankees' offense with home run

(1:17 am ET) Mark Teixeira hit a solo home run for the Yankees only run and half of the team's hits in a two-hit loss to the Angels on Tuesday. 

Teixeira snapped an 11-game home run drought with his 19th of the year and 54th RBI. He went 1 for 2 with a walk on the day.  


Mariners' Brad Miller collects two hits in Tuesday's win

(1:16 am ET) Mariners shortstop Brad Miller went 2 for 4 at the plate during Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Padres.

His biggest hit came in the fourth inning when he hit a two-run home run off Ian Kennedy. It was his seventh home run of the season.

Prior to his two-hit game Tuesday, Miller was batting .211 with two doubles and three RBI in his last 11 games.


Huston Street gets 23rd save in Angels' win

(1:14 am ET) Angels closer Huston Street pitched a perfect ninth inning to save a 2-1 win over the Yankees. 

Street turned in his second perfect performance in as many days, bouncing back from a blown save on Sunday. 

Street has faced save situations each of the last four days, converting three of them. 


Mariners catcher Mike Zunino homers in Tuesday's win

(1:12 am ET) Mariners catcher Mike Zunino hit his ninth home run of the season to help send the Mariners to a 5-0 win over the Padres on Tuesday.

Zunino hit the solo shot off Ian Kennedy in the third inning. The home run was his only hit in four at-bats during the game. He also struck out twice.

Prior to Tuesday's contest, Zunino was hitting .167 with one home run and two RBI in his last nine games.


Yankees' Ivan Nova takes first loss of year

(1:11 am ET) Yankees starter Ivan Nova took his first 2015 loss In his second start of the year, Tuesday against the Angels. 

Nova dropped to 1-1. He gave up two runs in 5 1/3 innings, but the Yankee batters could only muster one run on the day. 

Nova struck out seven, his most since September 21, 2013. 


Padres SP Ian Kennedy receives loss in Tuesday's start

(1:07 am ET) The home run ball was the undoing for Padres pitcher Ian Kennedy during Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Mariners.

Kennedy allowed four runs on four hits over five innings of work. He also struck out five and walked one during the outing. He surrendered a solo home run to Mike Zunino in the third inning and a two-run home run to Brad Miller in the fourth.

He is now 4-7 with a 4.86 ERA. Tuesday's start broke his three-game quality start streak.


Angels' Andrew Heaney earns first career win

(1:07 am ET) Angels starter Andrew Heaney earned his first career win, Tuesday, over the Yankees. 

Heaney was 0-3 last year and had a no decision in his first start of this season. He pitched a career-high seven innings on Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and striking out a career-high seven batters. 


Kurt Suzuki drives in two runs for Twins

(1:03 am ET) Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki went 2 for 4, snapping a 13 at bat hitless streak spanning four games.

Suzuki drove in two runs, giving him 23 on the year. 


Mariners SP Mike Montgomery tosses shutout Tuesday

(1:02 am ET) Mariners pitcher Mike Montgomery tossed his second-consecutive complete game shutout during Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Padres.

Montgomery only allowed one hit over nine innings of work. He struck out seven and walked four during the outing. He is now 3-2 with a 1.62 ERA on the season.

Montgomery has received a quality start in five of his six starts this season. He has allowed a total of four runs over his last 25 1/3 innings.


Eduardo Nunez goes 3 for 4 in Twins' win

(1:01 am ET) Twins shortstop Eduardo Nunez went 3 for 4 in Tuesday's win over Cincinnati. 

Nunez doubled, his twelfth of the year, scored twice, and drove in his 11th run. 

Nunez snapped a three-game hitless stretch with the outburst.
