The team is expected to provide an update on his status in the near future.

Will Venable will get the start in left field and bat sixth in place of Upton on Tuesday.

Braves release RP Josh Outman on Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(6:20 pm ET) The Braves announced that they have released left-hander Josh Outman on Tuesday. Outman, who was signed as a free agent in January, never threw a pitch for Atlanta. He has spent the duration of the 2015 season on the disabled list due to a shoulder injury.

Cashman: Yankees prospect Luis Severino not on innings limit
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5:57 pm ET) Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said starting pitcher prospect Luis Severino, who will make his MLB debut Wednesday, is not on an innings limit.

"There's nothing that's going to hold him back now," Cashman said, per NJ.com. "We prepared for this, and hopefully we have a chance to have him max out, because that will mean he's pitching deep into games.

"If he performed up to his capabilities, we felt he would pitch for us from August on at some point. And here we are. So now it's, let's see what we've got."

Severino threw 113 innings last season. He has thrown 99 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A.

"It wouldn't be the worst thing if he went eight innings every time and then we had to be concerned," manager Joe Girardi said. "But I think he's at a pretty good spot. His innings were somewhat controlled down there, and if I'm told we have to manage it, I'll manage it."

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5:44 pm ET) Tigers manager Brad Ausmus confirmed starting pitcher Buck Farmer is moving to the bullpen, as Matt Boyd will be joining the rotation Wednesday.

However, Farmer's demotion to the bullpen might not last long since he could start Saturday vs. Boston, if Alfredo Simon (groin) is sidelined.
