Indians OF Brandon Moss drives in three runs Friday

(11:32 pm ET) Indians outfielder Brandon Moss drove in three runs to lead the Indians to a 7-3 victory over the Reds on Friday.

Moss went 2 for 4 during the game. His biggest hit came in the third inning when he hit a solo home run off Mike Leake.

Prior to his two-hit game Friday, Moss had been hitting .200 with one home run in his last five games.


White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez gets 3 singles

(11:30 pm ET) White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez went 3 for 4 during Friday night's 3-2 victory over the Twins. 

This is the second time this season that Ramirez has recorded three hits in a game. All three of hits on Friday were singles. 

Ramirez is now hitting .250/.268/.358. 


White Sox get 8 hits on Twins P Phil Hughes

(11:25 pm ET) Twins pitcher Phil Hughes gave up two earned runs in Friday evening's 3-2 loss to the White Sox. 

It was a mixed bag for Hughes, who kept the run total low but did give up eight hits. He struck out three batters and walked one. This is the third game in his last four that he's allowed at least eight hits. 

Hughes now has an ERA of 4.50 this season. 

His next start is projected for May 27 against the Red Sox. 


Reds SP Mike Leake walks five batters during Friday's loss

(11:23 pm ET) Reds pitcher Mike Leake had trouble with his command during Friday's 7-3 loss to the Indians.

Leake walked five batters during the outing, which was one shy of his season high. He was only able to pitch four innings and gave up five runs on seven hits during the start. He also surrendered a home run to Brandon Moss in the third inning.

Leake has given up 14 runs over his last two starts and failed to pitch past the fifth inning. His next expected start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Rockies.


White Sox P David Robertson converts save opportunity

(11:16 pm ET) White Sox pitcher David Robertson picked up his ninth save of the season in Friday night's 3-2 win over the Twins. 

Robertson pitched the ninth inning and struck out two batters, improving his ERA to 0.98 for the season. This is the fourth time Robertson has earned a save in his past five appearances. 

His two strikeouts snaps a two-game streak where he didn't record one. 


Indians SP Carlos Carrasco fans seven in Friday's win

(11:16 pm ET) Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco allowed two runs on four hits over six innings of work during Friday's 7-3 win over the Reds.

Carrasco stuck out seven batters and walked two during the outing to earn his fifth win of the season. The win broke a two-game losing streak for Carrasco.

Carrasco has now tossed at least six innings in five-consecutive starts. His next expected start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Rangers.


White Sox P Jeff Samardzija goes 8 innings in win

(11:09 pm ET) White Sox pitcher Jeff Samardzija went eight strong innings during Friday night's 3-2 win against the Twins. 

Samardzija only allowed three hits and two earned runs in the game. He struck out nine batters and walked one. This is the second consecutive game Samardzija has been able to go into the eighth inning. 

Samardzija now has an ERA of 4.28 for the season. 

His next start projected for May 27 against the Blue Jays. 


A's to place Coco Crisp (neck) on disabled list Saturday

(10:49 pm ET) Athletics manager Bob Melvin said the team will place outfielder Coco Crisp on the disabled list Saturday, reports The San Francisco Chronicle.

Crisp has not played since May 19 because of a neck injury, but it will not require surgery.


J.D. Martinez powers Tigers to win over Astros on Friday

(10:38 pm ET) Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez smacked a three-run home run to lift the Tigers to a 6-2 win over the Astros on Friday.

The home run came off Collin McHugh in the third inning. It was his ninth home run of the season. Martinez finished the game 2 for 3 with three RBI. Over his last 13 games, Martinez is 18 for 47 with three home runs and six RBI.


Astros SP Collin McHugh allows nine hits in Friday's loss

(10:28 pm ET) Astros pitcher Collin McHugh surrendered a season-high nine hits over seven innings of work during Friday's 6-2 loss to the Tigers.

The nine hits led to three runs, which all came on a home run by J.D. Martinez in the third inning. McHugh has pitched at least seven innings in five of his last seven starts. His ERA now stands at 3.43.

His next expected start is scheduled for Wednesday at Baltimore.
