Mark Ellis not coming off DL yet
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5:46 pm ET) Dodgers infielder Mark Ellis is not expected to be activated Sunday from the disabled list,  manager Don Mattingly told the Los Angeles Times.

Ellis is expected to play six innings in Double-A Saturday as part of his minor-league rehab assignment. He has been out since late April with a right quad strain.

Ted Lilly coming off the DL
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5:41 pm ET) Dodgers manager Don Mattingly told the Orange County Register Saturday that he expected pitcher Ted Lilly to be activated from the disabled list Monday. Lilly has been out since April 29 with a strained rib cage and has been saying he's ready to return since throwing five innings in his latest minor-league rehab start.

Lilly's role has yet to be determined, but it seems likely that he will pitch out of the bullpen to start.

Tony Cingrani gets a plan for return to minors
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5:37 pm ET) Reds manager Dusty Baker told the Cincinnati Enquirer Saturday that the team is pleased with the work Tony Cingrani put in over six starts, but they want him to work on some things at Triple-A Louisville.

"We talked to him," Baker said. "He did a great job for the limited experience that he had. It was a great learning experience, but he also helped us at the same time. I talked to him and so did (pitching coach Bryan Price). He knows he needs a secondary pitch."

The team optioned Cingrani to Triple-A Saturday to clear room in the rotation for Johnny Cueto, despite Cingrani having a 3.27 ERA in his six starts. But the data bears out Baker's constructive criticism, as Cingrani threw 83.6 percent of his pitches for fastballs.

The organization is not telling Cingrani which pitches to throw or how often, but they want him to learn to be successful even when his fastball isn't working, possibly by focusing on his change-up more. He threw the change-up 5.9 percent of the time in the majors.

"We want him to get comfortable with it on the sideline so he can take it to the game," Baker said. "Everyone says throw the breaking ball. Everyone doesn’t have the delivery or the hand size to throw certain pitches. So we’re going to have to come up with something else to get them off the fastball. His change-up is getting better."

Yankees sign Josh Bell to minor-league deal
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:30 pm ET) The Yankees have signed third baseman Josh Bell to a minor-league deal, CLNS Radio reports. He went 0 for 2 with two walks in his first game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The White Sox released Bell on May 7 after he hit .273/.310/.345 in 58 plate appearances with Triple-A Charlotte. He owns a .195/.223/.265 line in 282 major-league plate appearances in his career.

Nationals tab Zach Duke for Monday
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5:29 pm ET) Nationals pitcher Zach Duke will move from the bullpen to the rotation Monday against the Giants, to replace Ross Detwiler for at least one turn. The team announced the move Saturday.

Duke has an 8.40 ERA in 15 innings out of the bullpen this season and has not started since 2011, when he had a 5.47 ERA in nine starts for the Diamondbacks.

Michael Bourn has two steals
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(5:23 pm ET) Indians outfielder Michael Bourn went 2 for 5 Saturday during a win over the Mariners. He stole second and third to increase his total to five.

Bourn, who is batting .311, had two singles with an RBI. The leadoff hitter has three RBI in 74 at-bats and is 5 for 10 the past two games.

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(5:19 pm ET) Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera had three hits Saturday in a win over the Mariners. Cabrera, who's batting .245, went 3 for 5 as the No. 3 hitter, including a double and run scored.

Cabrera has 12 doubles and 19 RBI, but 36 strikeouts.

Mark Reynolds drives in winning run
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(5:15 pm ET) Indians third baseman Mark Reynolds hit his 12th home run of the season Saturday during a win over the Mariners. Reynolds homered in the fifth inning off former teammate Joe Saunders.

Reynolds went 2 for 5 with three RBI. He had an RBI single in the first inning and another on a fielder's choice in the ninth to give the Indians the walk-off win.

Reynolds, batting .268, had been slumping a bit but has 12 homers and 37 RBI this season.
