    (9:30 pm ET) The Padres have traded Reymond Fuentes to the Royals for pitcher Kyle Bartsch, according to MLB.com.

    The 23-year-old Fuentes hit .294/.363/.416 over two minor-league levels last year. Bartsch posted a 2.29 ERA in High A over 55 innings.


    Brewers add David Goforth to 40-man roster

    (9:23 pm ET) The Brewers have added David Goforth to the 40-man roster on Thursday.

    Goforth posted a 3.76 ERA in 64 2/3 innings at Double-A last season. The 26-year-old will be inelligible for the Rule 5 draft following the move. 


    Report: Reds have talked about dealing Jay Bruce

    (9:04 pm ET) The Reds have talked about dealing outfielder Jay Bruce, according to FoxSports.com.

    The 27-year-old is a two-time All-Star, but is coming off a poor offensive season. Bruce hit just .217/.281/.373 over 493 at-bats. He missed time during the season due to knee surgery. Bruce is under contract for the next two seasons, and has a club option for 2017. He's expected to be ready for spring training. 


    White Sox have a high asking price for Alexei Ramirez

    (8:59 pm ET) The White Sox asking price for shortstop Alexei Ramirez remains high, according to ESPN.

    Ramirez will earn $10 million in 2015. He has a club option that allows him to come back at the same price in 2016. Ramirez is coming off a season in which he hit .273/.305/.408 over 622 at-bats. 


    Astros' Carlos Correa 'fully recovered'

    (8:33 pm ET) Astros infield prospect Carlos Correa is "fully recovered" from a fractured fibula.

    Correa is expected to be with the team in big league camp. He'll likely begin the season at Double-A, according to general manager Jeff Luhnow. 


    Pirates' Pedro Alvarez expected to have normal offseason

    (7:52 pm ET) Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez is expected to have a normal offseason, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

    Alvarez had a stress reaction in his foot. The injury ended his season prematurely. The team designated Ike Davis for assignment Thursday, confirming it will move ahead with Alvarez at first next season. General manager Neal Huntington confirmed the news, saying "we've essentially committed to Pedro over Ike Davis."


    Pirates shore up 40-man roster

    (7:26 pm ET) The Pirates have added four players to the 40-man roster on Thursday.

    Jameson Taillon , Nick Kingham , Willy Garcia and Elias Diaz all had their contracts purchased. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the team outrighted Brent Morel and designated Ramon Cabrera for assignment. 


    Cubs add C.J. Edwards to 40-man roster

    (7:16 pm ET) The Cubs have added C.J. Edwards to the 40-man roster on Thursday.

    Edwards is considered one of the team's best pitching prospects. The 23-year-old posted a 2.35 ERA over two levels in 2014. 


    Pirates designate Ike Davis for assignment

    (7:12 pm ET) The Pirates have designated first baseman Ike Davis for assignment.

    Davis was acquired by the club midseason, and hit .233/.344/.378 over 360 at-bats last year. The 27-year-old should draw interest if he chooses to become a free-agent. 


    Rays designate Jose Molina for assignment

    (7:08 pm ET) The Rays have designated catcher Jose Molina for assignment on Thursday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

    Molina is signed for $2.75 million in 2015. The team wanted to clear space on the 40-man roster, and determined Molina had to go. The 39-year-old hit .178 over 225 at-bats last year.
