Michael Brantley hits in ninth straight for Indians
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:49 am ET) Indians left fielder Michael Brantley went 2 for 4 with a walk in Tuesday's 12-inning win over the Angels.

Brantley's two singles extended his hitting streak to nine straight games. He's hitting .364 over the streak.

Indians' Giovanny Urshela hits game-winning two-run homer
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:45 am ET) Indians third baseman Giovanny Urshela helped end a marathon against the Angels with a two-run game-winning home run in the 12th inning.

Urshela's fourth career homer was his first game winner and his first hit later than the seventh inning.

Urshela went 3 for 5 in the game with a double, snapping a four-game, 15-at bat hitless streak.

Angels' Matt Shoemaker strikes out 10 in no-decision
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:30 am ET) Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker pitched six scoreless innings, Tuesday against Cleveland.

The Angels couldn't score either, however, and Shoemaker settled for a no-decision.

Shoemaker hasn't allowed a run in his last three starts, spanning 19 innings. He matched a season high with 10 strikeouts, the second time in three starts he's recorded as many.

Indians' Carlos Carrasco goes nine innings in no-decision
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(1:27 am ET) Indians starter Carlos Carrasco went nine innings for the second straight game, but he left as the game went to extra innings, settling for a no-decision.

Carrasco allowed just one hit and didn't give up a run, but the Indians also couldn't score. He walked one batter and struck out seven.

Carrasco joined some elite company with a gem ending in a no-decision. He's the fourth pitcher to allow one hit to the Angels over nine innings and not earn a win, and first since Randy Johnson.

He's the first MLB pitcher to have nine scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit or fewer in a no-decision since Matt Harvey, in 2013.

After striking out seven and allowing just two hits in a complete game last start, Carrasco is the first AL pitcher with back-to-back starts with nine innings, seven strikeouts and no more than 2 hits since Teddy Higuero, in 1987.

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

Prior to Tuesday's win, Semien was hitting .125 with one home run and one RBI in his last 10 games.

Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez receives loss in Tuesday's start
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(1:12 am ET) Orioles pitcher Miguel Gonzalez did not pitch horribly, but he failed to produce a quality start during Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the A's.

Gonzalez allowed three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings. He also struck out five and walked three. He is now 9-8 with a 4.32 ERA.

Gonzalez has lost his last two starts and has one quality start over his last five outings.

Athletics SP Chris Bassitt receives first win of season Tuesday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(1:08 am ET) Athletics pitcher Chris Bassitt was dominant throughout his start Tuesday against the Orioles, which the A's won 5-0.

Bassitt tossed seven scoreless innings while striking out seven and walking two. He was making his sixth start of the season and received his first win. He is now 1-4 with a 2.64 ERA.

Bassitt has earned a quality start in each of his last four starts, but has just one win to show for it.

Mariners' Vidal Nuno takes no-decision in first start of year
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(12:22 am ET) Mariners pitcher Vidal Nuno started his first game of the season, after 21 relief appearances, Tuesday against Colorado.

Nuno started 28 games last season. He lasted 3 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits. After allowing three home runs all season coming into the game, he gave up two homers on Tuesday.

Nuno left with the score tied and took a no-decision.
