Freddie Freeman clubs another home run

(9:14 am ET) Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman clubbed another home run Friday against the Mets.

Freeman didn't get going until late in the game, but managed to make a big impact. With one man on base in the eighth, Freeman homered on an 83 mph changeup from Gonzalez Germen. He also added a double in the ninth inning.

Freeman finished 2 for 5, with one run and two RBI.


Christian Yelich remains on roll with three-hit game

(9:13 am ET) Marlins left fielder Christian Yelich ran his hitting streak to 12 games and continued to produce from the top of the lineup Friday night in an interleague clash against visiting Seattle.

Yelich slammed three hits, including a bunt single in the ninth before riding home on a game-winning game slam off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton. Yelich is 20 for 51 for a .391 batting average during his hitting streak, during which he has scored 10 runs.

He added his first extra-base hit Friday since April 9, a fourth inning double.


Scooter Gennett drives in two

(9:09 am ET) Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett drove in two runs Friday against the Pirates.

Gennett came up big with the bases loaded in the fourth inning. He doubled on the first pitch he saw from Charlie Morton, driving in two runs. He finished 1 for 4, with one run and two RBI.


Carlos Santana hits first home run Friday

(9:06 am ET) Indians third baseman Carlos Santana hit a home run Friday against the Blue Jays.

Santana only had one hit in the game, but made it count. In the sixth inning, he worked a six-pitch at-bat against Drew Hutchison. He took a 91 mph fastball out to right for a two-run shot. He finished the game 1 for 4, with one run scored and two RBI.


Ian Kinsler collects three hits Friday

(8:58 am ET) Tigers infielder Ian Kinsler collected three hits Friday against the Angels.

It took Kinsler a while to get things going. After making outs in his first two at-bats, Kinsler singled in the fifth inning. He later added singles in the seventh and eighth inning. Kinsler finished the game 3 for 5, with one run and two RBI.


Ian Stewart picks up three hits Friday

(8:46 am ET) Angels infielder Ian Stewart collected three hits Friday against the Tigers.

Stewart tripled in his first at-bat, and doubled his second time up. After popping out his third time up, Stewart singled in the seventh. He finished the game 3 for 4, with one run and one RBI.


Robinson Chirinos picks up three hits Friday

(8:37 am ET) Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos collected three hits Friday against the White Sox.

Chirinos got things going early, singling in his first at-bat. The following inning, he homered on a first-pitch curveball from Felipe Paulino for a two-run shot. In the fourth, he singled, picking up his third hit.

Chirinos finished the game 3 for 5, with one run scored and two RBI.


Josh Reddick hits first home run

(8:31 am ET) Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick hit his first home run Friday against the Astros.

Reddick had his best game of the season, picking up three hits, including the long ball. After hitting a two-run shot of Jared Cosart in the first inning, Reddick singled in the third and seventh innings. 

He finished the game 3 for 4, with one run scored and two RBI. He raised his average to .156 with the strong performance. 


Albert Pujols hits another home run Friday

(8:24 am ET) Angels first baseman Albert Pujols clubbed another home run Friday against the Tigers. 

Pujols doubled in the top of the third for his first hit of the game. With two men on in the top of the sixth, Pujols homered on the first pitch he saw from Luke Putkonen. It was his fifth home run of the year.

Pujols finished the game 2 for 4, with two runs scored and three RBI.


Leonys Martin keeps hot streak going Friday

(8:17 am ET) Rangers outfielder Leonys Martin continued his hot streak at the plate Friday against the White Sox.

After striking out in his first at-bat, Martin clubbed a triple his next time at the plate. He followed that up with a solo home run, and a single. Martin came to the plate in the eighth a double short of the cycle, but struck out in his final at-bat.

He finished 3 for 5, with two runs scored and four RBI. Martin has collected six hits over his past three games.
