(10:14 pm ET) Giants closer Sergio Romo worked his way around a walk and needed just 19 pitches in a scoreless ninth inning, securing his fifth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Padres. He owns a 1.13 ERA, a 0.63 WHIP with a 9:2 K:BB ratio over eight innings pitched to start the season.

Tim Lincecum Ks seven in win over Padres

(10:12 pm ET) Giants starter Tim Lincecum tossed a quality start and earned his first win of the season Sunday afternoon against the Padres. He allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings pitched in a 4-3 victory.

Lincecum owns a 6.43 ERA with a 24:4 K:BB ratio over 21 innings pitched. He will make his next start Saturday at home against Cleveland.


Kenley Jansen strikes out the side for save No. 7

(10:06 pm ET) Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen made quick work of the Diamondbacks on Sunday, collecting his seventh save of the season in a 4-1 victory.

Jansen struck out Miguel Montero, Aaron Hill and Eric Chavez in the ninth to secure the win. He is 7 for 9 in save chances with a 4.09 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP over 11 innings pitched.


Jamey Wright collects first win

(10:02 pm ET) Dodgers reliever Jamey Wright was awarded his first win of the season Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Wright pitched a scoreless sixth before the offense scored four runs in the bottom of the frame. He allowed a run-scoring double to Eric Chavez in the seventh inning for his only damage of the afternoon. He surrendered one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one inning pitched in a 4-1 victory. He owns a 3.38 ERA over 10 2/3 innings pitched this season.


Josh Beckett extends scoreless streak to 11 innings

(9:50 pm ET) Dodgers pitcher Josh Beckett lasted only five innnings on Sunday, but extended his scoreless streak to 11 innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks. The right-hander surrendered one hit and two walks while striking out seven over five shutout innings of a 4-1 win.

"It would have been nice to go a little deeper, especially with how much the bullpen's been used. But I felt like it was probably in the best interest of the team to not keep going," Beckett said.

Beckett has allowed just four runs over his first 14 innings pitched since returning from a nerve condition that required him to undergo surgery in July of last year. He will make his next start Friday against Colorado.


Josh Collmenter knocked around in loss to Dodgers

(9:41 pm ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Josh Collmenter was knocked around SUnday afternoon, suffering his second loss of the season in his team's 4-1 defeat to the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The right-hander permitted four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings pitched.

Collmenter has a 4.50 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP through his first 18 innings of work. He'll be searching for his first win of the season come Friday at home against Philadelphia.


Luke Gregerson collects third save

(7:57 pm ET) Athletics pitcher Luke Gregerson entered Sunday's game against the Astros in the ninth inning with a three-run advantage. He struck out one and needed just eight pitches, securing his third save of the season in a 4-1 victory.

Gregerson is 3 for 4 in save chances with a 1.69 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP over 5 2/3 innings pitched since earning a role in Oakland's closer-by-committee approach.

Jesse Chavez delivers another stellar outing

(7:54 pm ET) Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez continued his strong start to the season with another dominant outing on Sunday, earning his first win of the season in his team's 4-1 victory over the Astros. The right-hander permitted one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings of work.

Chavez has allowed just one earned run in each of his first four starts. He owns a 1.38 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP with 28:5 K:BB ratio over 26 innings pitched. He will start again against the Astros, this time in Houston on Friday.

Brad Peacock lasts only five frames in loss to A's

(7:50 pm ET) Astros pitcher Brad Peacock lasted only five innings and was hit with his second loss of the season Sunday afternoon against the A's in Oakland. The right-hander surrendered two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings in a 4-1 defeat.

Peacock owns a 6.14 ERA, a 1.91 WHIP along with 15:11 K:BB ratio over 14 2//3 innings pitched. He will get another crack at the Athletics at home on Friday.

Juan Carlos Oviedo activated from DL

(7:46 pm ET) The Rays activated pitcher Juan Carlos Oviedo from the disabled list following Sunday's loss to the Yankees, the team announced. Oviedo, returning from Tommy John surgery, last appeared in the majors in 2011.
