Lyles has permitted two runs or fewer in each of his last seven starts. He has lowered his ERA from 6.63 to 3.22 over that span. He is scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Romo allowed a two-out single in the game, but quickly shut the door with a strikeout of Logan Forsythe to end the game, his second of the outing. Romo needed just 14 pitches to finish the game.

Cashner scattered 10 hits in the game, letting in three runs in 6 2/3 innings. He actually exited the game in line for a loss, as the Padres went down 3-2 in the seventh inning, before battling back in the eighth.
Cashner struck out six batters in the outing, matching his high for the season, while walking just one. He threw 67 of 107 pitches for strikes, while raising his ERA to 3.56.
Cashner is set to make his next start Sunday against the Dodgers.
