Giants' Madison Bumgarner has three-game win streak snapped

(12:11 am ET) Giants starter Madison Bumgarner dropped to 11-6 with a loss to Texas on Friday. 

Bumgarner had a three-start winning streak snapped. He allowed nine hits and a season-high six runs. He didn't walk a batter for the first time since June 6. 


Mets 2B Wilmer Flores gets two hits, walk-off against Nationals

(12:10 am ET) Mets second baseman Wilmer Flores went 2 for 5 with a walk-off home run and two RBI in his team's win over the Nationals on Friday.

Flores drove in both of his team's runs during a 12-inning, 2-1 victory over Washington. Flores came to bat in the bottom of the 12th and hit the game-winning home run to left center off Nationals reliever Felipe Rivero.

Over his last nine games, Flores is hitting .297 with 11 hits, a double, a home run and four RBI.


Cardinals 3B Matt Carpenter hits lead-off home run on Friday

(12:09 am ET) Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run, giving the Cards an early 1-0 lead over the Rockies. Carpenter would finish the game going 2 for 4 with a double and his 13th dinger of the year.

Carpenter now has three homers in his last two games.


Nick Martinez snaps six-game winless streak for Rangers

(12:08 am ET) Rangers pitcher Nick Martinez improved to 6-6 with a win, Friday, over San Francisco. 

Martinez snapped a six game winless streak, getting his first victory since June 9. He's 0-4 with two no-decisions over that span. 

Martinez allowed two runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings, the sixth time in the last eight starts he's gone six innings or more. 


Cardinals SP Michael Wacha blanks Rockies for seven innings

(12:06 am ET) Cardinals starter Michael Wacha was terrific in his outing against the Rockies on Friday. The right-hander fired seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out seven on the evening. He improved his record to 12-4 in the 7-0 victory.

Wacha took full advantage of a comfortable lead and shutdown a tough Rockies lineup. He threw 102 pitches with 70 going for strikes, as he dropped his ERA to 3.09.

Wacha finished July going 2-1 with a 4.06 ERA in five starts.


Rockies' Kyle Kendrick leaves after one inning with shoulder injury

(12:03 am ET) Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick left Friday's game against the Cardinals after one inning due to right shoulder inflammation. He gave up two runs on four hits, including a solo home run to Matt Carpenter, before leaving the game. He was left with his 12th loss of the season, as the Rockies were shutout 7-0.

The right-hander is lsited as day-to-day, and he will have an MRI on Monday according to MLB.com. Kendrick's next start would come Tuesday against the Mariners, but it is not yet known if he will be forced to miss any time. 


Nationals RF Bryce Harper gets ejected Friday

(12:00 am ET) Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper was ejected from Friday's loss to the Mets after arguing a strike three call during the top of the 11th inning.

Harper, who went 0 for 5, was not pleased to be called out looking and began to argue with the home plate umpire, who quickly tossed him from the game.

The hitless performance snapped an eight-game hitting streak for Harper. Over that stretch, he hit .379 with 11 hits, three doubles, two home runs and four RBI.


Koji Uehara saves 23rd game for Red Sox

(12:00 am ET) Red Sox closer Koji Uehara pitched a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two batters and protecting a two-run lead. 

Uehara recorded his 23rd save of the season. It was his first save situation July 11, four appearances ago. He convered his 12th straight save opportunity and had his 10th scoreless outing in the last 11. 


Eduardo Rodriguez takes no-decision for Red Sox

(7/31/2015) Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez pitched five innings but ended up with a no-decision, Friday against Tampa Bay. 

Rodriguez gave up three runs, just the second time in the last six starts that he's allowed more than two earned runs. 

Rodriguez walked a season-high four batters and also struck out four. 


Marlins' Derek Dietrich hits game-tying home run on Friday

(7/31/2015) Marlins outfielder Derek Dietrich hit a key home run on Friday, as he tied the game 3-3 with a ninth-inning solo shot off Padres closer Craig Kimbrel. The Marlins would end up losing the game 8-3 in 11 innings however.

The home run was Dietrich's sixth of the year in just 88 at-bats. It was also the third in his last nine games.
