Cardinals P Marco Gonzales to miss next minor-league start

(3:27 pm ET) Cardinals pitcher Marco Gonzales , who has a left pectoral injury, will miss his next scheduled start with Triple-A Memphis, according to MLB.com

Gonzales will have his left pectoral muscle examined after experiencing tightness in it. 

The issue popped up while he was doing flat work on Saturday. 


Royals' Alex Rios headed to Triple-A for rehab assignment

(3:23 pm ET) Royals outfielder Alex Rios left for Omaha on Sunday, to begin a minor league injury rehab assignment at Triple-A.

Rios is on the 15-day disabled list with a hand injury. Rios said he still felt pain when hitting, but the pain was "manageable", per Fox Sports


Mike Moustakas returns to Royals' lineup on Sunday

(3:21 pm ET) Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas returned to the starting lineup on Sunday. 

Moustakas left Saturday's game after getting struck in the collarbone by a ground ball. 


D-Backs P Matt Stites to pitch extended spring game Monday

(3:19 pm ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Matt Stites will appear in an extended spring training game on Monday, according to FOX Sports Arizona

Following that outing, Stites will report to Class A Visalia to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. 

Stites is on the disabled list due to an elbow injury. 

A year ago, Stites posted a 5.73 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 33 innings. He's yet to appear in a game for the Diamondbacks this season. 


Athletics Drew Pomeranz, Eric O'Flaherty, A.J. Griffin working on Monday

(3:19 pm ET) Three injured Athletics pitchers are all doing rehab work on Monday. 

Eric O'Flaherty, on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder injury, will throw a bullpen, as will A.J. Griffin, on the DL with an elbow injury. 

O'Flaherty could begin a minor league rehab assignment soon, per the San Francisco Chronicle.

Drew Pomeranz, on the 15-day DL with a shoulder injury, will play catch on Monday.


Dodgers P Pedro Baez (pectoral) to begin throwing program soon

(3:15 pm ET) Dodgers pitcher Pedro Baez is not experiencing any pain in his injured right pectoral, according to SB Nation's True Blue LA. 

Baez sustained a right pectoral strain and was placed on the 15-day disabled list. With the pain alleviated, Baez is expected to begin a throwing program soon. 

Baez was forced to leave a May 13 game against the Marlins due to the injury. 


Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal could come off 7-day DL when eligible

(3:11 pm ET) Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said that the organization believes catcher Yasmani Grandal will be able to come off of the 7-day concussion disabled list when eligible, according to SB Nation's True Blue LA. 

It's possible that Grandal participate in two or three minor-league rehab games, however. 

On Saturday, Grandal was hit in the facemask by a backswing from Yangervis Solarte, which triggered a head injury. He was diagnosed with a mild concussion

This season, Grandal is slashing .291/.403/.466. 


Sonny Gray leaves start for Athletics after getting hit by comebacker

(3:05 pm ET) Athletics starter Sonny Gray left Sunday's game after five innings. 

Gray was hit by a comebacker in the fourth inning. After pitching the fifth, he came out of the game at the start of the sixth inning. 

The team announced that Gray left the game with a right ankle contusion.


Gonzalez, LeMahieu and Rosario have days off for Rockies

(3:05 pm ET) After playing both games of Saturday's doubleheader, Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is getting the day off on Sunday against the Giants. 

Brandon Barnes will fill in for Gonzalez and bat sixth. 

Infielder DJ LeMahieu is also getting the day off. Daniel Descalso will play second base instead. Ben Paulsen is filling in for Wilin Rosario, who also has the day off. 


Rays' Steven Souza leaves game with wrist injury

He was replaced by Joey Butler
