(11:20 pm ET) Blue Jays pitcher Felix Doubront made his first start of the season and just his second 2015 appearance.

Doubront allowed one run on six hits over 6 2/3 innings to beat the White Sox. It was his most innings since Aug. 30 of last year, and his six strikeouts were the most since April 19, 2014.

Twins' Miguel Sano slugs first career home run in win Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(11:19 pm ET) Twins rookie slugger Miguel Sano connected for his first big-league home run in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Orioles. Sano, who went 2 for 3 with three RBI in the ballgame, slugged a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Twins up early.

Sano has collected a hit in each of the first six games in his young career, and he now has recorded his first big fly.

Indians RP Cody Allen dealing with back issue
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(11:19 pm ET) A stiff back prevented Indians pitcher Cody Allen from playing in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Astros, reports Cleveland.com.

He was able to throw a side session Tuesday and manager Terry Francona said he expects Allen to be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's contest.

Orioles' Kevin Gausman gets lit up for seven earned runs Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(11:14 pm ET) Orioles right-hander Kevin Gausman got blasted in his start against the Twins on Tuesday. Gausman lasted 3 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits. He walked one and struck out four, uncorked two wild pitches and hit a batter, as his ERA ballooned to 5.00.

Gausman (1-1) got hit early and often in this one, as he allowed a two-run home run to Miguel Sano as part of a three-run first inning. Another run came across in the third before Gausman allowed four more to score in the fourth.

This was the worst start of Gausman's young career, as the seven earned runs are a career-high and the 3 2/3 innings are a career-low.

Garrett Jones gets two hits, RBI for Yankees
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(11:13 pm ET) Yankees right fielder Garrett Jones went 2 for 4 in Tuesday's loss to Oakland.

Jones also drove in a run, his first since July 1.

It was Lawrie's second career extra-inning home run and first since Sept. 5, 2011.

Lawrie went 1 for 4 and hit his eighth homer of the year. It was his first homer since June 24 and just his second RBI since then.

Gibson (7-6) allowed a two-run home run to J.J. Hardy in the fifth inning for the only blemish on his evening. Gibson has a 2.56 ERA with 27 punchouts over his last seven starts.

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Butler hit his seventh homer of the year and first since June 29. He went 1 for 4 and drove in his 37th run.
