Dodgers Brett Anderson fails to go five innings Monday

(1:19 am ET) Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson was one out shy of completing five innings of work during Monday's win over the Giants. As a result, Anderson earned a no-decision for his effort.

Anderson (1-1) got the first two outs of the fifth inning, but then surrendered a walk and three-consecutive hits before being pulled for the game. It was his second-straight start failing to pitch at least five innings. His ERA now stands at 5.49.

His next projected start will be Sunday against the Diamondbacks.


Giants SP Tim Lincecum struggles in Monday's loss

(1:17 am ET) Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum failed to pitch past the fourth inning of Monday's loss to the Dodgers.

Lincecum allowed four runs on eight hits over four innings to earn the loss. He struck out two batters and walked three. Lincecum (1-2) ran into trouble during the third inning, when all four runs against him were scored.

Lincecum surrendered five hits and one walk during the inning. He retired the side in the fourth inning, but was pulled after that.

His next projected start is Sunday against the Angels.


Rockies' Corey Dickerson gets 3 hits in Monday's win

(1:16 am ET) Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson went 3 for 5 in Monday night's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks. 

Dickerson recorded an RBI and scored a run of his own. He now has 15 RBI for the season. Dickerson is now batting a slash line of .338/.384/.632. 


Rockies P John Axford holds on to save against Diamondbacks

(1:13 am ET) Rockies closer John Axford held on for a save in Monday night's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks. 

Axford entered the game in the ninth inning and gave up two hits, putting one batter on third. However, Axford was able to get through the inning without giving up a run and preserving the save. 

This is Axford's third save of the season. 


D-Backs P Chase Anderson allows 5 runs in loss to Rockies

(1:10 am ET) Diamondbacks pitcher Chase Anderson allowed five earned runs in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies. 

Anderson gave up eight hits and walked two batters. He struck out four and how has an ERA of 4.24. His next start is projected for Sunday against the Dodgers. 


Royals OF Alex Rios says broken hand is healing well

(12:26 am ET) Royals outfielder Alex Rios said Monday he hopes to pick up a bat in 10 days, reports MLB.com.

Rios suffered a broken hand earlier this month after he was hit by a pitch. Rios said the injury is healing well.


Rockies' Tyler Matzek leaves game with hamstring injury

(12:06 am ET) The Rockies announced that Tyler Matzek left Monday's game 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks with a left hamstring cramp, according to The Denver Post.

Matzek went five innings and allowed two earned runs and three walks. He gave up five hits but struck out three batters.

From the plate, he ended going 1 for 3 with a run scored. He's now hitting .429/.429/.571.  


Fernando Rodney allows a walk, hit but earns save in M's victory

(12:06 am ET) Closer Fernando Rodney (S,5) allowed a hit and a walk in the ninth inning but perserved the Mariners' 3-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Rodney is now 5 for 6 in save opportunities this season.

Tigers P Joakim Soria earns save Monday

(12:02 am ET) Tigers pitcher Joakim Soria entered Monday's game with a one-run lead in the ninth inning and he shut the Twins down to earn his eighth save of the season.

Soria's lone blemish during the inning was a leadoff single to Jordan Schafer. He also struck out one batter. His ERA now stands at 1.86.


Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo gives up three runs in six innings in loss

(4/27/2015) Rangers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo (2-3) yielded three runs on three hits in six innings on Monday to suffer the loss to the Mariners. 

The M's grabbed a 2-0 lead after one inning off Gallardo and never looked back. 

Gallardo struck out five and walked three in the defeat. 

Gallardo returns to the mound on Sunday against the A's.
