Indians OF Brandon Moss breaks out with two HRs, seven RBI
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11:03 pm ET) Indians outfielder Brandon Moss homered twice and totaled a career-high seven RBI during a 13-1 rout of the Tigers on Friday.

Moss got the offense going early Friday, as he had a two-out, two-RBI double in the first inning off Shane Greene.

Moss then greeted reliever Alex Wilson in the fifth inning with a three-run homer to right field. He finished off his offensive outburst with a two-run homer off reliever Al Alburquerque in the ninth inning.

Moss' previous high was six RBI, which he also had in a game against the Tigers in 2013. He has had seven multihomer games in his career.

Moss is batting .214 with three home runs and nine RBI in 13 games.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:54 pm ET) Red Sox closer Koji Uehara finished off a 7-5 win Friday against the Orioles for his third save.

Uehara ran into a little trouble in the ninth inning, as he allowed runners to reach first and third base with one out. Both runners reached base via singles.

However, Uehara was able to retire the last two batters in the ninth before a run crossed the plate. He had two strikeouts.

Uehara has two saves since Tuesday.

(10:48 pm ET) Orioles starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk in six innings during a no-decision Friday against the Red Sox. He struck out one.

Gonzalez held Boston off the scoreboard for four innings, while Baltimore built a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Red Sox got going in the fifth inning. David Ortiz had a two-out, three-run homer before Hanley Ramirez hit a solo home run, putting Boston ahead 4-2.

The Orioles would rally to tie the game in the seventh inning, getting Gonzalez off the hook for the loss.

Gonzalez, who is 2-1 through four starts, is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday against the White Sox.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:47 pm ET) Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello allowed four runs on six hits and two walks during a no-decision Friday at Baltimore. He struck out seven batters in six-plus innings.

Porcello struck out the first five batters he faced and didn't allowed a base runner until Caleb Joseph's one out walk in the third inning.

The game was scoreless until Jimmy Paredes hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The Red Sox went ahead 4-2 in the top of the fifth before Everth Cabrera had an RBI single off Porcello in the bottom of the fifth.

Porcello was lifted after allowing a Chris Davis walk and Delmon Young single to open the seventh inning. Davis would eventually score to tie the game and take away the win from Porcello, who is 1-2 through four starts.

The right-hander will be back on the mound Wednesday vs. Toronto.

Red Sox LF Hanley Ramirez leaves game with foot injury
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:34 pm ET) Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez left Friday's game in the top of the ninth inning due to a foot injury.

Ramirez was in pain after fouling a ball off his left foot. He was able to finish off the at-bat with a single to center field. However, the Red Sox replaced Ramirez after he reached base with pinch runner Xander Bogaerts.

Ramirez went 2 for 5 with a solo home run before leaving the game. The home run in the fifth inning was his sixth this season. He is batting .274 with 13 RBI through 16 games.
