A's 1B Ike Davis goes 2 for 4, hits homer in win

(1:17 am ET) Athletics first baseman Ike Davis hit his third home run of the season in Monday night's 7-1 win over the Rockies. 

Davis finished the game 2 for 4 and also hit his 12th double of the season. This was Davis' first two-hit game since May 7. He now has a slash line of .271/.331/.429. 


Angels' C.J. Cron hits second home run of season Monday

(1:11 am ET) Angels first baseman C.J. Cron connected off CC Sabathia in the seventh inning for his second home run of the season during Monday's 4-1 win over the Yankees.

The solo shot was his only hit in three at-bats during the contest. Cron was recalled Monday. Prior to the game, Cron was hitting .150 with no extra-base hits in his last nine games.


A's DH Billy Butler hits homer, collects three hits in win

(1:11 am ET) Athletics designated hitter Billy Butler crushed his sixth home run of the season in Monday night's 7-1 win over the Rockies. 

Butler hit his solo shot in the fourth inning. Butler finished the game 3 for 4 and also had an RBI single, giving him two RBI for the game. Butler's homer gives him two in his past 10 games. 

Butler now has a slash line of .254/.315/.366.


Rockies P David Hale tagged for 5 runs in loss

(1:06 am ET) Rockies pitcher David Hale allowed five earned runs in Monday evening's 7-1 loss to the Athletics. 

Hale went seven innings, gave up nine hits and struck out two batters. Hale was roughed up for four of those runs in the first inning. Three of the hits allowed went for home runs. This is the third consecutive start where Hale has surrendered five earned runs. 

Hale fell to 2-3 and now has an ERA of 5.95. 


Yankees' Brett Gardner collects three hits in Monday's loss

(1:04 am ET) Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was the lone bright spot offensively for the Yankees during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Angels.

Gardner went 3 for 5 at the plate. Prior to his three-hit game Monday, Gardner was hitting .469 with four home runs and 11 RBI in his last 11 games. He is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.


A's P Kendall Graveman pitches seven scoreless innings in win

(1:02 am ET) Athletics pitcher Kendall Graveman won his fifth game of the season in Tuesday night's 7-1 victory over the Rockies. 

Graveman went seven innings, allowed five hits and gave up zero earned runs. He walked three batters and struck out three. This is the third time this year that Graveman has gone at least five innings without allowing an earned run. 

Graveman improved to 5-4 and now has an ERA of 3.47 this season. 


Angels RP Huston Street picks up save Monday

(1:00 am ET) Angels pitcher Huston Street recorded the final three outs in Monday's 4-1 win over the Yankees to notch his 22nd save of the season.

Street allowed one hit during the appearance and his ERA now stands at 2.20. He has converted 22 of 25 save chances this season.


Angels SP C.J. Wilson allows one run in Monday's win

(12:58 am ET) Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson received a quality start for his effort during Monday's start against the Yankees, which the Angels won 4-1.

Wilson allowed one run on five hits over six innings of work. He also struck out five and walked three during the outing. He is now 6-6 with a 3.78 ERA on the season.

Monday's start was the opposite of his previous outing when he allowed seven runs over 3 1/3 innings. Wilson has won three of his last four starts and all three wins were quality starts.


Yankees SP CC Sabathia allows four runs in Monday's loss

(12:56 am ET) Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia produced a solid outing Monday, but it was not enough as the Yankees lost 4-1 to the Angels. Sabathia allowed four runs on six hits over 7 1/3 innings of work. 

The long ball was not kind to Sabathia on Monday. He gave up a solo home run to Mike Trout in the third inning and another solo shot to C.J. Cron in the seventh inning. He also struck out five and walked one during the outing. He is now 3-8 with a 5.59 ERA on the season.

Sabathia is now winless in his last four starts and he has just one quality start over those starts. He has not pitched more than six innings in seven of his last eight starts.


Angels CF Mike Trout hits 20th home run of season Monday

(12:54 am ET) Angels center fielder Mike Trout smacked his 20th home run of the season during Monday's 4-1 win over the Yankees.

Trout hit the solo shot off CC Sabathia in the third inning. With the home run, Trout became the sixth American League player to have at least four 20-plus home run seasons before the age of 24. The home run was his only hit in three at-bats. He also walked once and stole his first base since May 22.

Prior to Monday's win, Trout was hitting .294 with one home run and five RBI in his last 15 games.
