Nationals closer Drew Storen notches 25th save of season

(11:20 pm ET) Nationals closer Drew Storen shut the door on the Giants on Sunday and recorded his 25th save of the season while doing do.

Storen needed just 15 pitches to close out the ninth inning of a 3-1 win over San Francisco. He is second in the National league with 25 saves.

Storen (1-0) has a 1.97 ERA with 37 strikeouts and seven walks in 32 innings of relief this season.


Nationals SP Jorda Zimmermann strikes out eight in win

(11:16 pm ET) Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was simply dominant during his start in Sunday against the Giants.

Zimmermann allowed just one run on three hits in seven innings of work. He struck out eight batters and gave up just one walk while picking up his seventh win of the season.

Zimmermann (7-5) has a 3.04 ERA with 77 strikeouts and 20 walks in 106 2/3 innings this season.


Rangers DH Prince Fielder homers in multi-hit game

(11:06 pm ET) Rangers designated hitter Prince Fielder went 2 for 5 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

Over his last four games, Fielder is hitting an impressive .437 with seven hits, a home run and a RBI.


Rangers 2B Rougned Odor hits fourth home run of season

(11:03 pm ET) Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor went 1 for 4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

Over his last nine games, Odor is hitting .389 with 14 hits, four doubles, two home runs and six RBI.


Angels 1B C.J. Cron continues hot streak through weekend

(11:00 pm ET) Angels first baseman C.J. Cron enjoyed one of the best weekend series' of his baseball career.

Cron went 4 for 5 with a RBI and two runs on Sunday against the Rangers. The performance was just one day removed from a 3 for 4 outing on Saturday.

Over his last three games, Cron is hitting .571 with eight hits, a home run and eight RBI.


Angels RF Kole Calhoun homers, records four RBI in win

(10:54 pm ET) Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun enjoyed yet another monster performance during Sunday's win over the Rangers.

Calhoun went 2 for 5 with a home run and four RBI. He hit a three-run blast, his ninth of the season, during a four-run fifth inning.

Over hos last eight games, Calhoun is hitting a whopping .324 with 11 hits, three home runs and 14 RBI.


Angels 1B Albert Pujols slams 25th home run of season

(10:49 pm ET) Angels first baseman Albert Pujols hit his 25th home run of the season on Sunday against the Rangers.

Pujols went 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBI in the 12-6 win over Texas. Pujols hit a solo blast off Rangers starter Colby Lewis in the fourth inning to continue the offensive onslaught his team put together.

Pujols is hitting .260 with six hits, two home runs and six RBI over his last six games.


Rangers SP Colby Lewis gets rocked for 10 runs in loss

(10:31 pm ET) Rangers starting pitcher Colby Lewis got completely obliterrated by the Angels on Sunday.

Lewis allowed 10 runs on 12 hits in just four innings while picking up his fourth loss of the season. The outing was Lewis' second shortest of the season. Back in late May, he managed to get through just 2 2/3 innings before being pulled after allowing nine runs.

Lewis (8-4) has a 4.83 ERA with 75 strikeouts and 22 walks in 104 1/3 innings this season.


Angels SP C.J. Wilson strikes out four in win over Rangers

(10:26 pm ET) Angels starting pitcher C.J. Wilson didn't have his best stuff on Sunday, but that didn't keep him from picking up his seventh win of the season against the Rangers.

Wilson allowed three runs on six hits in six innings of work. He struck out four batters but did give up two walks in the process. A Prince Fielder home run was an early mistake Wilson allowed in the first inning, but he settled in and didn't allow any more runs until the seventh inning.

Wilson (7-6) has a 3.82 ERA with 93 strikeouts and 34 walks in 108 1/3 innings this season.


Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong ejected along with manager

(10:12 pm ET) Giants starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong was ejected in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Nationals for arguing balls and strikes, per ESPN.com.

Vogelson, along with manager Bruce Bochy, was ejected by home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi for apparently arguing balls and strikes. The ejection was the first of Vogelson's career. 

Vogelson threw four innings, allowed one run on three hits and struck out two batters prior to the ejection.
