(10:39 pm ET) Yankees right fielder Chris Young was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle against the Tigers, as he homered, doubled and singled on Tuesday. 

He also walked twice, going 3 for 3 on the night.


Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison targeting June to return

(10:39 pm ET) Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison is still a few weeks away from throwing, but is targeting a return to the big leagues in June, according to MLB.com.

Harrison, who is recovering from spinal fusion surgery, is scheduled to throw an 80-pitch simulated game Wednesday and face live hitters next week.

"The goal for me is to be back in June sometime," Harrison said. "I've got about three or four more weeks out here and then a rehab assignment."


Cameron Maybin goes deep in Braves loss

(10:39 pm ET) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin hit a solo home run for the team's only run of the game in a 7-1 loss to the Mets. 

Maybin went 1 for 5 with his third home run and fifth RBI of the season. He improved his average to .147.


Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein takes loss after one-run, six inning outing

(10:38 pm ET) Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein (1-1) allowed just one run on three hits Tuesday but did not get any run support in his six innings of work, taking the loss against the Yankees.

The only blemish for Lobstein was a first-inning RBI double he allowed to Mark Teixeira.

Lobstein walked four and struck out three in the defeat.

Lobstein's next scheduled start has not been announced as of Tuesday night.

Yankees starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi goes seven strong for first win

(10:36 pm ET) Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (1-0) pitched into the eighth inning on Tuesday, allowing one run on eight hits to earn his first win as a Yankee.

Eovaldi struck out four and was never in any trouble until a leadoff double in the eighth inning, at which put the right hander turned it over to the bullpen.

Eovaldi will get his first taste of the Subway Series on Sunday when his next start will be at home against the Mets.

Kevin Plawecki goes 2 for 4 in Mets' debut

(10:34 pm ET) Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki made his career debut in Tuesday's win over Atlanta. 

Plawecki singled in his second career at bat and finished the day 2 for 4. Plawecki also scored twice in the 7-1 win. 


Curtis Granderson drives in four for Mets

(10:29 pm ET) Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson drove in four runs in Tuesday's 7-1 win over Atlanta. 

Granderson went 3 for 5, improving his average to .196, hit his first double of the season and drove in his first four runs. Granderson drove in two runs with a fifth inning single, added another RBI with a single in the sixth, and finished his run production with an eighth-inning RBI double. 


Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista cranks another homer Tuesday

(10:28 pm ET) Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista went 1 for 5 at the plate Tuesday in Toronto's 13-6 win over the Orioles.

Bautista did his damage in the seventh inning when he ripped a 3-1 pitch from Jason Garcia over the center field wall for a two-run blast, his fourth of the season. He is now hitting .149 with 10 RBI in 47 at-bats this year.


Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion cranks two home runs

(10:25 pm ET) Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion went 2 for 5 at the plate Tuesday in Toronto's 13-6 win over the Orioles.

Encarnacion got things going early when he ripped the first pitch he saw from Bud Norris over the center field wall for a solo home run, his third of the year. Then in the sixth, Encarnacion did it again, leading off with a solo home run off Brian Matusz over the left field wall.

Encarnacion is now hitting .218 with eight RBI in 55 at-bats this season.


Rays 2B Ryan Brett (shoulder) likely headed to disabled list

(10:23 pm ET) Rays second baseman Ryan Brett is likely headed for the disabled list after dislocating his shoulder during Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Brett injured his shoulder (officially diagnosed as a subluxation) while in the process of getting picked off as a runner at first base.

If Brett is added to the DL, the subsequent roster move is unknown as of Tuesday night.
