Rockies' Matzek not ready to return to game action at Triple-A
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2:14 pm ET) The Rockies don't have a timetable for starting pitcher Tyler Matzek to return to game action for Triple-A Albuquerque, per MLB.com. For now, he continues to work with the coaching staff on fundamentals.

"I'm not going to get into it too much, but a lot of it is getting Tyler back to the basics on all fronts, and once he's able to simplify things in those ways it'll get him back on a path for success," Rockies player development director Zach Wilson said. "Tyler has had success before. He's also had to fight through ups and downs.

"Any professional athlete is going to run into hurdles. But because of the nature of Tyler Matzek, he's going to be able to get through it. Nobody's worried about it. Certainly he's not."

Report: Braves activate Chris Johnson, call up Donnie Veal
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(2:07 pm ET) Braves third baseman Chris Johnson is reportedly going to be activated on Wednesday, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Johnson is hitting .279 with five RBI in 43 at-bats this season. Veal is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 16 innings of work for Triple-A Gwinnett this season.

Indians' Callaway: Danny Salazar should be fine for next start
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1:35 pm ET) Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar's finger was tender Wednesday morning after sustaining a small cut near one of his fingernails Tuesday against the Rangers, pitching coach Mickey Callaway said, per MLB.com.

However, it doesn't appear the injury will keep Salazar from making his next start.

"We're going to take a day off from throwing today, get back to his bullpen [on Thursday]," Callaway said. "[We'll] probably do something like all fastballs. It really bothers him on his offspeed pitches. He really kind of yanks on that part of the finger. He should be fine for his next start."

Salazar is slated to make his next start Sunday at Seattle.
