Cardinals 1B Mark Reynolds leaves game with wrist injury

(10:28 pm ET) Cardinals first baseman Mark Reynolds was forced to exit Tuesday's game with a right wrist contusion, the team announced. X-rays on the wrist were negative and Reynolds is considered day to day.

Orioles SP Chris Tillman allows seven runs in Tuesday's loss

(10:24 pm ET) The fourth and fifth innings were not kind to Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman during Tuesday's 11-2 loss to the Rays.

Tillman allowed seven runs during the two innings and only lasted 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out five and walked two. T

illman (9-10) has lost his last three outings.


Marlins SP Justin Nicolino remains on roll with Tuesday win

(10:22 pm ET) Marlins starter Justin Nicolino arrived on the mound Tuesday night on a roll. He left downright hot.

Nicolino pitched seven shutout innings in Atlanta. He allowed six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. He got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the third and cruised the rest of the way.

The southpaw has given up on six runs in his last 27 1/3 innings in improving his ERA to 3.07, its lowest point since his first outing on June 20.


Braves SP Manny Banuelos rocked in comeback outing

(10:14 pm ET) The first start after activation from the disabled list was not what Braves left-hander Manny Banuelos had in mind.

Banuelos couldn't make it out of the third inning against visiting Miami. He allowed three runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings with one walk and no strikeouts.

Three singles and a walk resulted in two runs on his ledger in the first. An RBI single by Conor Gillespie in the third knocked him out of the game.

The poor outing raised his ERA on the year to 3.33.


Yankees RP Andrew Miller earns save Tuesday

(10:09 pm ET) Yankees reliever Andrew Miller pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his 29th save of the season during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox. Miller struck out all three batters he faced.

Yankees SP Michael Pineda earns 10th win of season Tuesday

(10:03 pm ET) Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda picked up a quality start and his 10th win of the season during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox.

Pineda allowed one run on four hits over six innings. He also struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

He is now 10-8 with a 4.07 ERA. Prior to Tuesday's win, Pineda had lost his last three starts.


Red Sox SP Rick Porcello pitches well, but takes loss

(10:00 pm ET) Despite striking out a season-high 13 batters, Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello was on the losing end of the 3-1 loss to the Yankees.

Porcello allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits over eight innings of work. His lone mistake was giving up a solo home run to Brett Gardner in the eighth inning.

Porcello is now 6-12 with a 5.21 ERA. He has allowed a total of one earned run over his last two starts.


Giants' Tim Lincecum may need hip surgery

(9:41 pm ET) Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum will see a hip specialist to determine if he needs surgery on his injured hip, reports CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. Lincecum has been sidelined since late June due to the injury.

Padres pitcher Josh Johnson nearing rehab assignment

(9:33 pm ET) Padres pitcher Josh Johnson was able to throw 15 pitches during a simulated game on Tuesday and reported no issues, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Johnson is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery and hopes to begin his rehab assignment over the weekend.


Astros SP Scott Feldman taken out of Tuesday game

(9:25 pm ET) Astros starter Scott Feldman is out of the game Tuesday against Seattle with an undisclosed injury, per MLB.com.

Feldman called for a trainer after walking two batters in the third inning and was eventually removed. He finished with two runs allowed on three hits and five walks.
