Dodgers' Brett Anderson snaps three-game winning streak

(1:08 am ET) Dodgers starter Brett Anderson lost for the first time since June 5, snapping a five start undefeated streak where he went 3-0. 

Anderson dropped to 5-5 on the year, He allowed four runs, three earned, in five innings. Anderson had his shortest outing and most runs allowed since June 10. He walked two and struck out five.


Royals SS Alcides Escobar collects three RBI in Tuesday's win

(1:05 am ET) Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar went 2 for 4 with three RBI to help lead the team to a 7-1 win over the Rays.

Escobar also scored twice and walked once. Escobar drove in the three runs when he hit a double in the sixth inning.

Prior to Tuesday's two-hit game, Escobar was hitting .283 with one double and two RBI in his last 13 games.


Phllies' Chad Billingsley gets first win in 27 months

(1:03 am ET) Phillies pitcher Chad Billingsley earned his first win since Apri 10, 2013, 27 months and two major surgeries ago. 

Billingsley gave up two runs on six hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out three, while moving to 1-2 on the year. 


Royals outfielder Alex Gordon drives in four runs Tuesday

(12:59 am ET) Royals outfielder Alex Gordon drove in four runs during Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Rays. He also went 4 for 5 at the plate.

Gordon drove in the first run in the fifth inning on a single off Matt Andriese. He singled in one more in the sixth and drove in the final two RBI on a double off Alex Colome in the eighth.

Prior to Tuesday's win, Gordon was hitting .213 with two home runs and two RBI in his last 15 games.


Angels' Chris Iannetta homers for the first time since May

(12:59 am ET) Angels catcher Chris Iannetta hit his first home run since May 28 in Tuesday's win over Colorado. 

Iannetta went 1 for 3 with a walk and hit a two-run homer, giving him four on the year. 

Iannetta had just two RBI since his last home run before Tuesday's homer. 


Angels' Matt Joyce snaps power drought with homer

(12:56 am ET) Angelsleft fielder Matt Joyce hit a solo home run in Tuesday's win over Colorado, snapping a power slump. 

Joyce got his first RBI since June 19 and his first home run since May 30. He now has five homers on the year. 

Joyce has scored three runs in the last two games.


Angels' Mike Trout hits 22nd home run of year

(12:52 am ET) Angels center fielder Mike Trout hit a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over Colorado.

Trout went deep for the 22nd time this year and third time in the last seven games. Trout has six RBI in the last seven games. 


Royals SP Edinson Volquez allows one run in Tuesday's win

(12:50 am ET) Despite producing a solid outing during Tuesday's start against the Rays, Royals pitcher Edinson Volquez received a no-decision during the 7-1 win.

Volquez allowed one run on five hits over five innings of work. He also struck out five and walked three. His biggest mistake was giving up a solo home run to John Jaso in the third inning.

Volquez has not pitched more than five innings in each of his last two starts. After going on a four-game winning streak, Volquez is now winless in his last two starts.


Albert Pujols ties Angels record for first-half homers

(12:50 am ET) Albert Pujols homered for the second straight day and hit his 26th home run of the season in Tuesday's win over Colorado. 

Pujols tied an Angels' team record for most home runs prior to the All Star Break, matching Garrett Anderson's 26 in 2000. 

Pujols went 1 for 5 with three RBI. He's hit in four straight games and has seven RBI in the last three games. 


Rockies Drew Stubbs homers in loss

(12:47 am ET) Rockies left fielder Drew Stubbs went 1 for 3 with a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Angels. 

Stubbs homered in the third inning, getting his first hit since his return to the Angels. 

Stubbs' last hit was May 18. His last RBI was May 13, and his last home run was May 6.
