Phillies 1B Ryan Howard set to face personal punching bag Shelby Miller
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(3:37 pm ET) If the sight of Braves right-hander Shelby Miller on the mound doesn't snap Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard out of his 7-for-40 slump, perhaps nothing will.

Howard only has seven career at-bats against Miller, but he has certainly done plenty of damage. He has four hits, including three home runs and six RBI. He has also walked twice.

Tigers SS Jose Iglesias (groin) held out of lineup Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(3:35 pm ET) Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias was held out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the White Sox. Iglesias was forced to leave Sunday's game in sixth inning due to left groin tightness.

Andrew Romine was the starting shortstop for manager Brad Ausmus on Tuesday. Updates regarding Iglesias' timetable for return have not yet been made available.

White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton returns to the lineup Tuesday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:35 pm ET) White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Tigers after missing three straight days with an illness, the team announced.

Eaton was replaced by J.B. Shuck for the last three days. He is hitting .192 with three doubles in 78 at-bats this season. The White Sox are currently the favorites (-115) against Detroit Tuesday.

Pirates' Harrison off, Cervelli batting second Tuesday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3:32 pm ET) Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Reds.

Harrison played a total of 35 innings during a three-game stretch over the weekend as the Pirates lost three straight extra-innings games to the Cardinals. The Pirates were off Monday, but Harrison will get an extra day to rest. With the third baseman out, Francisco Cervelli will bat second for the third time this season.

The Pirates are favorites (-145) against the Reds at home Tuesday.

Brewers SS Jean Segura back in lineup after missing one game
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3:31 pm ET) The Brewers received some good news Tuesday as starting shortstop Jean Segura was able to return to the starting lineup after missing one game due to a head injury.

Segura sat out Monday against the Dodgers after getting hit in the head by a pitch Sunday. Hector Gomez started in his absence Monday.

Segura returns in time Tuesday to face Zack Greinke. He is 1 for 6 (.167) with one triple, one walk and one strikeout in his career against the right-hander. He is batting .244 with one home run, one triple, two doubles and seven RBI in 25 games against righties this season.

Nationals LF Jayson Werth gets night off Tuesday vs. Marlins
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(3:28 pm ET) Nationals left fielder Jayson Werth was given the night off and was held out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Marlins. Werth has really been struggling at the plate, as he is just .195 over his last 10 games with zero extra base hits.

Michael Taylor replaced Werth in left field for manager Matt Williams on Tuesday.

Red Sox LF Hanley Ramirez out of Tuesday lineup
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(3:28 pm ET) Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez is hoping to return quickly after sustaining a shoulder injury Monday night. But it was far too much to expect him to play Tuesday night against Tampa Bay - and he is indeed out of the lineup.

The Red Sox hope that Ramirez, who is considered day-to-day, won't require a stint on the disabled list. The length of his recovery time will determine that.

They can certainly use his bat. Ramirez had five home runs during a six-game stretch in late April and owns a strong slash line of .283/.340/.609.

Rays LF David DeJesus has success against Red Sox Porcello
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(3:21 pm ET) David DeJesus will man left field and bat fifth for the second consecutive game for the Rays in Tuesday night's matchup with the Red Sox. DeJesus has a lifetime .364 batting average (8 for 22) against Boston's starter Rick Porcello, so Rays manager Kevin Cash will hope his left fielder can continue that success Tuesday.

On the season, DeJesus is batting .259 with a home run and 10 RBI. He snapped a five-game hitless streak by going 2 for 4 on Monday.

Scuffling Phillies 2B Chase Utley benched for Tuesday game
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(3:19 pm ET) Slumping Phillies second baseman Chase Utley is getting Tuesday night off in Atlanta. Cesar Hernandez is set to play that position instead while Cody Asche will bat in his customary No. 3 spot.

Utley has been a mess at the plate all year. Aside from one three-hit game on April 14, he has just six hits in 2015. His current 2-for-35 slide has weakened his slash line to a meager .103/.182/.207.

Mets option Eric Campbell, add Johnny Monell to roster
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3:14 pm ET) The Mets optioned third baseman Eric Campbell to Triple-A Las Vegas Tuesday and selected the contract of catcher Johnny Monell, the team announced.

Campbell drew 15 straight starts at third base after David Wright hit the disabled list, but the team chose Friday to move Daniel Murphy to third base and play Dilson Herrera at second, an alignment to which they stuck throughout the weekend. Campbell hit just .200/.323/.320 with one home run and five RBI in 50 at-bats.

Monell will give the Mets another lefty bat off the bench moving forward. He has hit .397/.455/.638 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 58 at-bats with Triple-A Las Vegas.
