Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira back in the lineup Tuesday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:32 pm ET) Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays after missing Monday's game with a lat injury, manager Joe Girardi said per the New York Daily News.

Teixeira was replaced by Garrett Jones after playing nine consecutive games for New York. He is hitting .202 with a team-high nine home runs and 20 RBI in 84 at-bats this season.

Orioles will decide next step for Flaherty, Hardy after Wednesday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5:26 pm ET) Orioles infielders Ryan Flaherty and J.J. Hardy are both in the Double-A lineup on Tuesday. Both players are expected to play again on Wednesday before the club determines the next step, according to the MLB.com.

Report: MRI clean for Red Sox LF Hanley Ramirez
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:24 pm ET) The latest news is good news for Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez, who is sidelined Tuesday with a shoulder injury sustained Monday night.

An MRI has shown no structural damage and nothing to indicate that a stint on the disabled list will be necessary, according to Comcast Sports Net. He remains sore, but his range of motion is improved.

The report further states that Ramirez could be back in time to play this weekend in Toronto, which makes John Farrell feel better.

"He's dealing with a mild sprain of the left shoulder," Farrell told WEEI. "... I think it was encouraging that he came in today with some increased mobility. Still a little sore, obviously, but maybe a little bit better than anticipated coming in."

Rockies adjust order on Tuesday; pitcher Tyler Matzek hits eighth
by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer
(5:22 pm ET) The Rockies will bat pitcher Tyler Matzek in the eighth spot against right-hander Josh Collmenter and the Diamondbacks on Monday while second baseman DJ LeMahieu drops to ninth.

It’s the third time this season that Matzek will hit No. 8 and fifth time Lemahieu is in the nine spot.

Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will move up from his usual third spot to No. 2 in the order while left fielder Corey Dickerson moves up to hit third.

Pitcher Joe Wieland to start for Dodgers on Thursday vs. Brewers
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(5:20 pm ET) Joe Wieland has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for the Dodgers' game on Thursday against the Brewers, according to MLB.com. The 25-year-old right-hander has been pitching at Triple-A, and has a 3-0 record with a 3.60 ERA in four starts for Oklahoma City.

Wieland was part of the package that sent outfielder Matt Kemp from the Dodgers to the Padres this past offseason. He had Tommy John surgery in 2012, and missed all of '13 and most of '14 while recovering. Wieland is taking the rotation spot of Scott Baker, who is expected to be designated for assignment.

Cubs send Joe Ortiz outright to Triple-A Iowa
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:18 pm ET) The Cubs sent pitcher Joe Ortiz outright to Triple-A Iowa Tuesday.

Ortiz was designated for assignment Sunday after the team claimed Anthony Varvaro off waivers. He has given up four earned runs in 10 2/3 innings for Triple-A Iowa while striking out just one batter and walking five.

Red Sox DH David Ortiz mad autographed items given without his permission
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:14 pm ET) Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is mad. And he's on a seven-game hitting streak.

His anger has nothing to do with his play on the field. It has everything to do with a member of the Red Sox security staff giving Boston fan Mike Shuster several of his signed souvenirs in exchange for the ball Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez sent over the Green Monster on Friday night to tie Willie Mays for fourth place on the all-time home run list.

Ortiz assured that he didn't feel any anger toward Rodriguez. He simply wanted to give permission for any of his autographs to be handed out.

"That is not OK with me at all," he told the New York Daily News. "That's not the way it's supposed to work. They're supposed to ask me before any of my [items] get offered to anyone. ... It's not because they were doing this for A-Rod's ball. It's because they're supposed to ask me before any of my [expletive] get offered to anyone."

Brewers' Jonathan Lucroy (toe) healing well, X-rays show
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5:11 pm ET) Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has X-rays Monday that showed good signs of healing, MLB.com reports.

Lucroy hit the lineup in mid-April after fouling a ball off his toe, causing the toe to fracture. He was given a timetable of four-to-six weeks for recovery but hopes to be on the short side of that estimate. Lucroy has hit .133/.216/.178 with one RBI in 45 at-bats.

Phillies option pitcher Severino Gonzalez on Tuesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(5:09 pm ET) Phillies pitcher Severino Gonzalez was optioned to the minor leagues on Tuesday. The move was made to clear space on the 25-man roster for Chad Billingsley, who will start Tuesday against the Braves.

Gonzalez made two starts for the Phillies, recording a gaudy 10.57 ERA (though most of that was due to a horrific first start on April 28 in which he gave up seven earned runs in 2 2/3 innings). He could rejoin the team later on this season if the Phillies need an extra arm in the rotation or bullpen.

White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers available despite illness
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:08 pm ET) White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers is available off the bench for Tuesday's game despite battling an illness, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Flowers is feeling better but had a fever and had the chills on Sunday, forcing him out of action. Flowers is hitting .217 with one home run in 46 at-bats this season.
