(5:09 pm ET) Catcher Brian McCann is not in the Yankees' starting lineup for Sunday night. Instead, J.R. Murphy gets his fifth start of the year behind the plate. Murphy will hit seventh in the lineup. 

Orioles starter Bud Norris rebounds for win on Sunday

(5:09 pm ET) Orioles starting pitcher Bud Norris (1-2) allowed three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Red Sox to earn his first win of the season. 

Norris held the Red Sox scoreless through the game's first six innings before surrendering a three-run homer to third baseman Pablo Sandoval in the seventh. 

Norris rebounded from his previous outing where he allowed nine runs in just 2 2/3 innings. 

Norris' next start is scheduled for Saturday against the Rays.


Braves' Trevor Cahill gives up four runs in loss vs. Phillies

(5:07 pm ET) Braves pitcher Trevor Cahill took the loss Sunday, giving up four earned runs on five hits and three walks in six innings while striking out two in his team's 5-4 defeat against the Phillies.

Cahill (0-3) put himself in an early hole, serving up a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to fall behind 3-2. The Braves were able to tie the game in the third inning, but the starter surrendered an RBI triple, putting his team behind for good.

Cahill has posted an 8.03 ERA and 5:7 K:BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings over three starts. His next start is scheduled for Friday against the Reds at home.


Didi Gregorius out of Yankees lineup on Sunday

(5:07 pm ET) Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius is not in the team's lineup for Sunday night's game. 

Stephen Drew will move over from second to start at shortstop for the fourth time this year. Gregorio Petit plays second, batting ninth. 


Jacoby Ellsbury not in Yankees' lineup on Sunday

(5:01 pm ET) Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is out of the lineup for Sunday' night's game. 

Ellsbury has been bothered by hip tightness, although treatment has helped with the problem. He was due for a day off soon anyway, so manager Joe Girardi gave him Sunday to rest the hip. The team was hopeful that  Ellsbury would be back in the lineup on Monday. 


Indians' Carlos Carrasco drops second game of year

(4:51 pm ET) Carlos Carrasco gave up five runs on nine hits over four and a third innings. Carrasco took the loss for the Indians, dropping to 2-2 on the year with a 4.60 ERA. He walked two and struck out five. 

Carrasco threw 53 strikes in 91 pitches. His next start is scheduled for Friday, at home against Toronto. 


Marlins send Grant Dayton outright to Triple-A

(4:51 pm ET) The Marlins sent pitcher Grant Dayton outright to Triple-A New Orleans Sunday.

Dayton was designated for assignment Friday to clear a 40-man roster spot. He has given up three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings over five appearances with New Orleans.


A's sign Ryan Roberts to minor-league deal

(4:50 pm ET) The Athletics signed infielder Ryan Roberts to a minor-league contract, according to A's Triple-A affiliate Nashville play-by-play announcer Jeff Hem. 

Roberts will start at third base and bat fifth for the Nashville Sounds in Sunday's game in New Orleans. 


Mets' Danny Muno in lineup Sunday vs. Yankees

(4:46 pm ET) Mets infielder Danny Muno is in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Yankees.

Muno, who is serving as the team's designated hitter and batting eighth, is making his first start of the season. He's 1 for 3 with a stolen base while serving as a pinch-hitter.

The Mets are underdogs (+135) against their in-town rivals Sunday.


Kyle Lobstein moves to 2-1 for Tigers

(4:43 pm ET) Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein earned the win on Sunday, moving to 2-1 on the season. 

Lobstein allowed three runs in seven innings, giving up six hits and walking two. Lobstein struck out four and threw 57 strikes in 86 pitches. 

Lobstein's ERA is now 3.50. He's next scheduled to pitch on Friday, at Kansas City.
